Hillary Clinton is not exactly spoken of positively in civil liberties circles, such as the Save the Fourth movement and anti-PATRIOT Act groups. Suppose Clinton wins the election by a solid margin (5-6 points) and there are lots of Trump supporters who riot and conduct attacks in areas that vote for Clinton, such as urban areas. You have a defeated Trump and people like Alex Jones egging on these attacks as revenge for Trump's defeat. Trump continues to claim that the election is rigged despite a comfortable EV and PV victory for Clinton. How does Clinton approach it?

I feel like her instinct is to lock up everyone involved in such a scenario for committing violence against the federal government (including Trump and Alex Jones) but there are thorny civil liberties problems with locking up people who are political opponents. So my question for the board is how should Clinton deal with such a scenario and how will she deal with it?

Your scenario is ridiculous.

The government is going to go through the normal legal process. To quote the Constitution,

That's very clear.

Hillary Clinton will be as good as Obama on civil liberties and will appoint civil libertarian judges.

We'll both of you are ridiculous here-the OP for predicting violence from Trump supporters when it's actually angry white male Democrats behind the violence, and Bedstuy for claiming that the Clinton/Obama judges are/will be civil libertarians because muh gay marriage.

Well we know she is actively campaigning on repealing first amendment protected speech, she has a history in the Senate of pushing for speech regulation, she voted for the Patriot Act, she apparently is not a fan of RFRA protections for religious adherents, and she said that the 2nd amendment does not exist. So ...

...why is this in the what-ifs board and not the 2016 or US General Discussion board?
