Seems like just tick tacky stuff that won't stick (like the John Miller/John Barron thing), and all the big breaking news is coming from other sources (like the Access Hollywood tape).

What's up with this?

If you do oppo research right, no one will trace it to you.

How do you know it isn't coming from the Clinton camp?

How do you know the Clinton campaign didn't have this tape for months and was sitting on it, waiting to inflict the greatest amount of damage possible? All David Brock or someone in the Clinton camp has to do is ask for the oppo when it comes to Trump.

Remember, the Washington Post, NBC, other news organizations have to protect their source when the source asks for anonymity

Donald Trump has done plenty to expose himself, and plenty of people are able to catch his lies.

So many instances of "gotcha"  have appeared in the media that the Clinton team does not have to do opposition research. Much opposition research in more normal campaigns involves legislative votes (Trump has none to use against him) and no decisions as a mayor or governor.  None of those apply to Donald Trump, who has never held public office.

It's because Donald Trump is basically showing himself to opposition research without any effort.

this seems like concern trolling to me - Clinton knew enough to bring up Alicia Machado, which damaged Trump because it got under his skin. Honestly - Clinton is running a very good general election campaign.

The RNC could have nuked Trump's campaign with the Access Hollywood tape, yet it didn't come out until the general, and at the very worst time for Trump (early enough to swing undecideds, but late enough for no possible recovery, and in the midst of debate season to rattle him).

The Clinton campaign wanted Trump as the GOP nominee.  This is revealed in the leaked emails.  The timing of the tape's release seems consistent with it being their baby.

Hugh Hewitt said it had all the hallmarks of an opposition research dump

There's no point in dumping oppo research when your opponent is quite happily digging his own grave.

Clinton's campaign probably had all these stories setup and timed for months now.

Yeah, I'd bet that most Trump stuff emanates from the Clinton campaign. Look at the timing of the p***y-grab video, quickly followed by a string of accusations and related stories and with the right timing just before the 2nd debate.

They know what they're doing.

Trump is digging his own grave because of the dump.  The more dirt they drop, the more he doubles down with erratic behavior and rhetoric.

Regardless if the Clinton campaign is the reason for the timing of the hits, they definitely have opposition research. They have teams doing this, it's not like they sit in the dark.

Team Clinton has opposition research, in the form of using Trump's words against him.

The pussy grab video was actually supposed to drop two days earlier than it did. NBC sat on their asses trying to figure out a way to protect Billy Bush.

Then the source which I assume was someone from the Clinton campaign gave it to WaPo and they turned around the story in five hours.

The wednesday timing would have been better because the debate allowed Trump to change the narrative and didn't hold many more GOPers' feet to the fire
