It's the 20th, which means it is campaign FEC filing day.  We are about 10 hours away from the deadline so post any news or reports here.

Trump campaign paid *$5 million* to Mercer-backed Cambridge Analytica in September, up from $250,000 in August.

Hope she sets enough money aside so the staff can get their flu shots this winter.

This month most of the money for Trump came from transfers from other committees (33.6m) so that is from the same kind of big fundraisers that he attacks Clinton for doing.

He also put in another $2m of his own money. He has been doing about $2m each month for the last few months. It may be that if the Trump campaign will actually spend that $140M in TV time that they booked he will have to kick in more this month unless their fundraising numbers have increased significantly.

Although based on the AP spending page, since they announced they will spend $140M through to the election they have only spent around $21M. So it does look like they arent using as much as they booked.

fun fact....

Stephen Bannon is an investor of "Cambridge Analytics" so he is making a profit from the actions of his own campaign.

Looks like $33,636,620.52 was transferred in to Trump's committee (probably mostly from the RNC joint fundraising committee). Only $17,354,402.24 was directly raised plus 2 million kicked in by Trump. The $70,201,909.65 spent and the $34,776,287.87 cash on hand are the real kickers though. That small of a cash position heading into October is brutal.

Regarding the whole "Team Clinton" (campaign and PACs), per Dan Merica:

Clinton and her various accounts begin October with $152 million in the bank, raised $153 million in September, per a campaign release

per cnn:

Trump spent much in september - for the first time - while the donors got tired of his act....and now adelson has run dry too, since he thinks trump is losing the house/senate with his intra-war against paul.

Trump spent massive amounts in September just before donors grew jittery
http://edition.cnn.com/2016/10/20/politics/donald-trump-september-donors-jittery/index.html

- financial: check-mate

- organizational: check-mate

- inter-party-unity: check-mate

- message discipline and debates: check-mate

now it only depends on getting the vote out.
