As I noted in this post (https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=249085.msg5330500#msg5330500) it all depends on the size of Clinton's win. In a 2000-like scenario (where there is just a 1 state difference and auto-recount) no one would expect a concession, and of course he wouldn't. I also think in a 2008 or 2012 or greater type of loss he will concede (maybe not gracefully).

The real question is a 2004-like scenario. Relatively close but still a loss and the networks have all called it, but if one state had gone the other way, then he would have won. If he can concoct any story about how their was 'rigging' in that state (and epseically if that state is PA) then he would almost certainly not concede. He would go on and on about Dems faking votes in Philly (with AAs). He would file lawsuits, etc. and drag things out and may never concede even after lawsuits fail.

All depends on the margin.

If it's an EV rout (340-350) with a big popular vote difference (5-6 points) he has no choice.

But the 2004 scenario is probably accurate.  If states like Florida, Nevada and North Carolina are extremely close and if there are documented allegations of fraud (like the PA precincts that went 100 percent for Obama 4 years ago), then LOOK OUT!

So if you have a precinct that is an entirely black area, and everybody there are Democrats, and all vote Democrat, it's suspicious because there aren't Republican voters living there to start with? Should we start calling midwestern states into question as well because some rural white precincts in those states went entirely Republican?

He will spit it if he gets less than 200 in the EC.

I am assuming he'll lose:

I don't think he'll ever concede, regardless of the magnitude of his defeat.  I think he'll make a speech, but I don't think he'll acknowledge Clinton as the winner.  I think he'll insult her and make baseless claims about [some code for black people] voting lots of times.

Then he'll say some stupid things about the media and then some stupid things about how he thinks he probably had more votes and then some stupid things about who-knows-what.  He'll do these things because he's infantile and stupid.

If he somehow manages to actually win in spite of himself, he'll deny that he ever said that the election was rigged.  He'll do this because he is a liar.

If he doesn't concede, will any current members of Congress join him in calling the results illegitimate, and defend his refusal to concede?  If so, who?

Once the electoral votes have been cast and then counted by Congress, it won't matter whether he's conceded or not.  And frankly, my dear, I won't give a damn. Smiley

I'm starting to wonder if he's being cunning with all the rigging charges.

Get everyone to insist the election is legit, then on election day he'll break out the Trumpshirts, some hacks from his Russian friends, maybe a bought state official or ten and "wins".

No, he'll demand that the votes on Nov 28th be counted.

No, and FBI agents should be ready to arrest him as soon as he begins inciting violence.

Due to the severity of his crimes I would prefer a unique punishment (we could feed him to Chris Christie) but the best course of action is to imprison him and let him serve as an example to any other right-wing terrorists who think encouraging an armed rebellion is a good idea.

He will invite his 39% of voters to join Trump Bank.

If it's of the scale that's possible - I actually think he will.

It says so much about the candidate and those supporting him that we even need to question whether or not someone will concede.

Maybe. If he does, he'll start talking nonsense about "election rigged" the day after.

Trump on Nov. 9:

"Of course I conceded to crooked Hillary.  Because that's what you do in a democracy.  No one cares about democracy more than I do.  I didn't even have to run.  I did this for America.  Now, were there irregularities?  Were there fishy voter registrations?  Did the exit poll numbers add up?  I leave it to you, people.  I leave it to you.  A lot of people in high places wanted to see Hillary elected President, and they got their way.  That's all I'm gonna say."

I think he will concede. During the first debate he did say he would absolutely accept it if Hillary won.

I think he's just playing us with his usual stupid media hype BS.

Hillary is going to win by a big enough margin that Trump won't be able to do anything else but concede.

He'll say: "Just kidding folks. Looks like the race has been decided, rigged as it was. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on a long long vacation. But I'll be baaaack...."

Even if he doesn't make the phone call or a public statement, Pence will agree Clinton has won and so will Ryan and McConnell. The world will carry on turning, Clinton's transitional team will go to work, the results will eventually be certified and no one will give a rat's ass whether Donald has lowered himself to admit he lost.

I guess he still thinks he ought to have won the Emmy for his show The Apprentice, as Hillary mentioned, so obviously he never lets things go.

Hopefully he will just make himself a laughing stock and sane people will ignore him.
