That's Brighton Beach. Neighborhoods like Bensonhurst, and the area around Fort Hamilton won't be terrible

Brighton Beach - Russians, Greenpoint - Polish people.

I doubt about the Hasidim. I have seen nothing to suggest they like Trump.

Brighton Beach - certainly. Harder to say about Greenpoint. Firstly, it has quite a large yuppy population. Second, not all Poles like Mr. Putin.

Yeah, Brighton Beach will be bad. It is not merely that these are the Russians: it is the least assimilated Russians. I could see a slight moderation due to residual Ukrainian sympathies of a minority there - but these will be few and far in between.

Funny, I was just at Brighton Beach last Saturday.  I heard more Russian than English being spoken.

I heard more Russian than English being spoken.

This would have been the case at any point over the last 30 or 40 years.

It is a rather peculiar Russian, though. Most people who live there came from places like Ukraine and Moldova and, though Russian tends to be their mother tongue, it is by no means the standard Russian of Moscow/St. Petersburg. Plus, it has been heavily invaded by English.

The food is good, though.
