Can't be any more embarrassing than when Bush made the guy who just lost his Senate seat to a dead guy his first AG.

John Ashcroft is one of those people who really fell off the face of the earth after he left the Bush Administration. I don't recall him ever publishing a book or endorsing any candidates or anything. I just looked on Wikipedia to see if he was still alive (he is).
