I'd want to hear more about adding a description before supporting it

Maybe a lack of profanity, implied or blatant, combined with allowing the elections administrator power to veto any descriptions as long as there's no less than ten days before the election. This could then be subject to an appeal to the courts.

If there are no objections, I will open up a vote on this bill later.

Alrightie, it's been fixed. I extend the period of debate for another 48 hours since the bill was different than what was originally posted in this thread.

I think this is a helpful bill - if a person (like Goldwater or TN Volunteer, to name a couple) goes by a different name than what they registered with, we should note that. No complaints from me here.

This is a no-brainer to pass, although I'm curious as to how the original bill would've gone had that been implemented. I could see people give quick descriptions of themselves: "experienced pragmatic libertarian" etc. so people who don't recognize all the names can get an idea of who they're voting for.

That was sort of my intention. We have them in the UK and they're optional. For example:

Seeing as there has been no further debate, I shall open this up to a vote. Members will have 48 hours to vote Aye, Nay or Abstain.

This bill has passed with three members voting in favour, none opposed, one abstaining and two not voting. This will be sent to the President.
