In Polish, we've already been using both ("Republika Czeska" and "Czechy"). I prefer "Czech Republic" in English.

"Czechia" reminds me of "Cheka".

"Czechia" is dumb and will likely never catch on.

In Austria, about 99% of people refer to it as "Tschechien", so ... Czechia.

But in English, I'd prefer Czech Republic.

It'll take time to catch on, but Czechia flows so much better. It has a strong first syllable and two weak syllables (one if you pronounce it Check-ya). That's much better than Czech Republic (Check Re-pub-lik). The k sound in Czech is followed by "Re", which is a strong consonant followed by a weak consonant,. This is followed by a stronger 2nd syllable "pub". As an added bonus, Czechia follows its neighbors in sounding consistent: Austria, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, etc. Freedom name.

Czech Republic sounds dignified, Czechia sounds like off brand cereal.

I hate having to say "Republic" every time, so Czechia. I also would prefer the Dominican Republic or Dominica have a different name for similar reasons.

Czechia is fine. This is exactly what is used in Russian (Чехия) and in many other languages. I mean, whether it is a Republic or not, it is still the same country. They will remain the same country even if they crown a Schwarzenberg.

I'm accustomed to Czech Republic, but I'll eventually start saying Czechia.

I <33333 this country, so for them, I will change! #Czechia

I prefer whatever the Czechs prefer.  Since there was no referendum, it's hard to say, but seems like they prefer Czech Republic to me.
