Even though Sabato and Cook both rate the race in NC-2 as Solid or Safe Republican, Rep. Holding could be seeing something that has compelled him to cut a (rather poorly designed) negative ad against his opponent. Maybe this is a sign of a down-ballot effect and possibly things to come.

I have a feeling more people are gonna hear about John McNeil just from this ad and vote for him.

Suburban Raleigh is somewhere you'd see a Republican collapse.

Probably good news for Clinton, Cooper, and Ross.

Um... well, if he and his team have the resources, I suppose running ads is preferable to not running ads.

This regular Republican - he was picked over Ellmers, someone with appeal to moderates and Trump supporters alike?

Of all people in this world who describe themselves as pro-life, Renee Ellmers might be the one who has done the most damage to our movement.

Republicans should crater in Wake County. He has the more GOP-leaning parts of it, but the county is still a majority of the district.

She killed a pro-life bill that was to open the 2015 congressional session.

For the record, I think Pro-Life groups blew it out of proportion but she did make a mistake in that situation.

Yeah, but then you run a positive biographical ad. Not some silly drive-by trashing.
