Just now on Rachel Maddow. Democrats filed papers in New Jersey federal court to tie the GOP to Trump/Pence's efforts to organize vigilante voter suppression goon squads. The GOP has a consent decree against them from 1982 that does not allow them to do this

I saw a source that they are suing them for Trump's election fraud claims (or something like that I'll have to check).

Looks like Trump and Christie might not be the only ones heading to prison, folks. Sad!

It's not the fraud claims, but the activities that are being organized to intimidate voters.

Yup, it was only a matter of time before the courts were brought in on this.

Rachel was saying that there is some legal opinion that the RNC might have to disassociate itself 100% from Trump in order to not be found in violation of their consent degree. Also said it could end up at the Supreme Court in a very short turnaround.

This is good to hear. I wasn't really worried out here (except for Colorado Springs which is a lost cause) but the Trumpshirts coming out in force was causing concern. Glad to see some action being taken, I just hope it's enough.

How unlucky of the GOP. With Republican-appointed judges somewhat consistently voting unfavorably (for liberals) in voting rights cases and Democrat-appointed judges voting favorably, this probably isn't good for the RNC:

May be looking at another 8 years.

Extend the consent decree indefinitely. The gop's core strategy is still minority voter suppression

Voter Suppression is quickly becoming a foundational aspect of the Republican Party.     I don't see why this shouldn't be extended indefinitely.
