I wanted to see how accurate you think this is.  I'm basically your stereotypical PC on most things.

My wife works in IT and, for reasons I don't care to find out about, hates Mac, she has some Macs around for work purposes but the computers we use are all PC or Android devices.

I'm on the Mac program. Apple is getting worse, but I HATE using recent windows versions.

PC (R)

I'm very conservative and loyal in my IT choices. I exclusively use Thinkpad T-series laptops, Blackberry phones, Xerox printers, Unicomp M-clone keyboards (made in Lexington!), and American-made HP-12C calculators from the early 80s. I would never even consider replacing any of those with products from any other brand, especially not Apple.

This distinction seems weird to me. There's PCs and there's notebooks, and there's Mac computers and Windows computers. I have a notebook (not a PC) with Windows. My parents have an iMac, which is both a Mac and a PC.

He's using the older definition of PC which was certainly non-Mac, but you are correct, since Apple got smart and switched to x86 based CPUs they are indeed PCs by any definition that makes sense.  (like why Pluto ain't a planet no more)

PC.  For what I need a computer for, a PC is cheaper and I can put up with its clunkiness.

Mac mostly

It's definitely more convenient to have as someone who programs ~30 hours a week.

Technically, Linux counts as PC in this sort of thing.  Although you can install Linux or Windows on a Mac now so maybe they also count as PCs?HuhHuh??
