it seems.  So assuming this to be true, that leaves two open spots.  Maybe Gonzales and a "wingnut?"  I hope not.  I want two wingnuts.

Yeah, I did a Google News search. Still, I don't see it happening. I think Rehnquist will wait until O'Connor's successor is confirmed.

But, I've been wrong before.

I sure hope not. Anyone else remember what happened in 1971 when there were two vacancies? Nixon nominated a conservative (Rehnquist) and a liberal (Powell) to ease the confirmation process. Although Bush's commitment to Estrada, Owens, Brown, et. al. is a good sign, I'm still very worried.

Please, please, please not Gonzales!
