So I've recently heard that South Korean politics are pretty crazy at the moment, and apparently the reason why is that the incumbent President Park has been under the influence of a astrologer or shamaness or something since she was young? And that that person has influenced even her actions as President, and has amassed a huge amount of power? It sounds crazy, so could anyone who knows more about the situation enlighten me?

The best comparison (aside from the obvious Rasputin one) I saw was that if it turned out Obama was a secret Muslim all along. There were rumours Park was whack, but it wasn't the sort of thing even anti-Park people brought up.

A lot of further rumours going round right now (naturally enough) up to an entire secret society being involved, we'll see. The opposition is seriously considering impeachment and her own party as well as the establishment has basically abandoned her.

Actually this reminds me of when the Blairs associated themselves with New Age cranks like Jack Temple. There was a Sunday Times story back in the day where supposedly Tony and Cherie went to the Caribbean and were "reborn" in a "Mayan womb" and smeared each others bodies with mud and fruit juice. Not to mention the feng shui consultant and Cherie's magic crystals.

And, err, Hillary's seance in the White House.

I would say that even if Ban Ki-moon runs in next year's election he won't be a lock, and if he doesn't, Moon Jae-in will walk to victory.

Lets not forget Nancy Reagan and her astrologer.
