Ok. I have to revisit my thoughts.

I still believe it is a complete BS to think that Comey has been acting unprofessionally. I don't even think, that it was his choice only; it could be FBI-team choice or something. And maybe Obama was  notified about it.

But... Right now it is a really bad optics for Trump. He keeps bringing Putin up (why, wtf!) and Mannaforts connection were troublesome. The fact that FBI/Comey is describing as partisan by media and not trying to defence himself is bad for Trump as well.

Comey was right in not naming Russia in this investigation as it was too close to the election. He should have done the same thing in case of the new Huma emails too. But he was afraid of not being able to plug the leaks and took the easy way out.

What this means is that Russia is meddling with our elections through one of the candidates -- and that candidate is obviously Donald Trump. What issue would Comey have with disclosing any information about Russian meddling otherwise? The FBI is clearly sitting on something regarding Trump's relationship with Russia.

I think Comey is onto something. There is something in those emails which is relevant to the previous investigation.

The issue is that if he waited until after the election to release it, the Republicans would have kittens.

He was in a position where there were no good options and he was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. Still, he went about it in basically the worst way possible, especially since this latest investigation has been ongoing for weeks and he waited until 11 days before the election to disclose it.
