This has the potential to be big, especially because of how Trump will react to it.
The story is probably BS, but Trump might actually screw it by attacking this women...

Yeah. This is just like the Inquisition of Comey. It isn't fair, but so what?
Why is Clinton's camp not doing a big story out this "obvious" scandal?

"Have you seen pictures of her as a kid? I mean come on, there are way hotter 13-year-olds out there."
LOL. It is off, but not much, from what he actually might say...

That's what Trump said?

"Jane Doe" is going to break her silence at 3 pm Pacific.

ladies and gentlemen of the forum please let the record show that I totally called this

it is highly likely this material (and other documents like it) is likely to be the subject of significant media discussion in the week ahead

The reason this hasn't gotten more coverage is due to the woman being anonymous. Out of respect for the victim, the media will not report on this without her consent.

Kudos to her for having the courage to come forward. The affidavits from witnesses help a lot to bolster her case.

also it's amazing that Mr. Morden literally predicted exactly what was going to happen but then said it probably wouldn't happen

So if the witnesses here actually held a press conference tomorrow, then yes, I think it would take off.  But since that's probably not going to happen, it'll keep flying under the radar until the trial takes place.

Still can't help feeling the media will find a way to blame Clinton for this.

Well she was first lady at the time it happened. Why didn't she stop it? She's had 30 years in politics to stop child rapists, and what has she done? Nothing. This shows that Trump understands child rape. He alone knows how to fix it.

I still think this story is BS, but it's interesting that parts of the media are just beginning to show a slight interest in it. Even if they're talking about it to knock it down, they're talking about it.

(Worth noting that if it's not BS, Trump has done a terrible, terrible thing and our first thought should not be about how it affects the election. But, as I say, it doesn't pass the smell test to me.)

"What I'm going to do to you is going to be f-cking disgusting."
That's what Trump said?

Trump's attorney Cohen said it, while threatening to ruin the life of a reporter if they wrote "a story with Mr. Trump's name in it, with the word rape"

it's starting to become clear that Trump's people have been running an intense mob-like intimidation scheme for months in desperate attempts to prevent anyone from publishing this story.

I think this sufficiently explains why there has been so little coverage until now. Smaller organizations would be ruined by the legal costs alone even if they dotted every i, crossed every t. The big agencies are probably just waiting to see if someone else takes the risk of breaking the story first. Once someone publishes something the deluge of Trump child-rape news will commence. As ursulahx says in the previous post, some news orgs are already starting to drop feelers to gauge the reaction

there is no reason I know of to think this is BS. Trump has shown throughout his life to be obsessed with pretty young women. He's vulgar, he's narcissistic. He boasts of assaulting women. He's a bully. He's combative. He's tempermental. He lacks a moral compass. I see no reason to doubt these allegations.

There's nothing here, unfortunately.

This is not the sort of thing a person should hope is true, to put it mildly.

Quite right. The hunger for this to come out is exactly the sort of thing we'd expect from the Trump campaign. Go high, people, remember?

BS, if he did something like this the American people deserve to know it. Going high and ignoring such is going low.

How is letting someone get away with rape "going high"?

I do think people shouldn't hope that it's true, though.

Better to hope that this poor girl is lying? I believe it. and I believe it is true. Hope has nothing to do with it. I hope the truth comes out and ruins Trump's prospects for winning the election.

It's also not the sort of thing a person should hope or assume is a lie, Shua.  To put it even more mildly.

What we hope is that, if true, this man does not become POTUS.

Yes, I know. My point, somewhat sarcastically made, was that it also sounds like something Trump could have said if this story is true.

So the accuser didn't show up.  That's it for this one, folks.

It may or may not be rescheduled.  She said she was too afraid.

No doubt she was inundated with death threats, legal threats, and all manner of Trumpist intimidation.
