My family is almost exclusively for Hofer/Clinton.

Except me: I'm for VdB/None.

This is the worst post in the 2016 sub-forum. It combines all the things people hate about everything.

I don't know of any family members who are definitely voting for Trump, and I know several who are voting for Clinton. My maternal grandmother was considering voting for Trump earlier in the year, but she has gotten more skeptical of him over the last few months; I doubt she will vote at all, to be honest. I think all of my pro-Sanders cousins have come around to Hillary by now. One conservative cousin seems likely to write in McMullin. Other conservative cousin is #NeverTrump, but not sure if he is voting for Hillary or voting third party (he lives in Maryland, so it's not like it really matters). My paternal grandmother, who before this year I had never heard talk about politics at all, has been quite vocally anti-Trump.

Pretty much all of my close friends (all late 20s) are voting Clinton, though I do know one who last I checked was still supporting Johnson.

Parents (Dad 56 w m, Mom 53 w f): Clinton
Grandparents (Grandpa 76 w m, Grandma 75 w f): Clinton
Aunts and uncles (4 w f, 3 w m ages 49-68): Probably a couple shy Trumpers, but most probably won't vote - a lot of them are Ron Paul people.
Cousins (17 people+spouses, all ages): Mix, but the Clinton supporters are much more likely to vote than the handful of Trump people.
Friends: Entirely Clinton, with a few Bernie Bro holdouts. A couple are going for Stein, one I know wrote-in Bernie, and one I think is leaving the presidency blank.

There's a pretty tremendous enthusiasm gap among people I know. People who voted for Romney and would gladly defend his policies are either pinching their nose to vote for Trump or just not voting this year. Nobody actually likes Trump of my friends/relatives except for like two of my 17 cousins and my aunt's ex-husband. My uncle thinks he's funny and gets too much crap from the media/liberals, but I seriously doubt he'd actually vote for him.

Myself (D, age 25): Hillary

Wow, I've got a cognitive dissonance... A lot of you have close males relatives (often Dads) voting for Trump. But this forum is about Trump-supporter = Deplorable. So I wounder how you act?

a) think that you relatives are deplorables
b) think that you relatives are of rare, few exceptions, (because they voting "redudantly" etc)

Most people I know aren't voting. A few are voting for Clinton. I'm sure I have Trumpista family that I'm not close to.

Dad- Trump
Mom- Johnson
Brother- Johnson
Grandmother- Trump
Aunt+ Uncle- Trump
Cousin- Johnson

I'm a political science grad student, so the Dems in classes are all behind Clinton while the reps are split between Clinton/Johnson/Trump. I work with Rep-leaners who are split the same way.

Friends are evenly split between #Trump and #NeverTrump. All the #nevertrumpers are quietly voting, while the #Trump folks are trying to bully the #NeverTrumps into supporting Trump.

Mom: Clinton, although much less enthusiastically than Obama.

Dad: Possible abstain, this coming from a lifelong Republican and Cain '12 supporter

Friend: Definitely Clinton, along with his whole family.

It's a bit different for me because obviously all my family are Canadian, but I do know who they want to win.

Sister: Clinton
Dad: Clinton
Mom: Clinton
Dad's brother: Clinton
Dad's brother's wife: Clinton
Mom's sister: Clinton
Mom's sister's husband: Clinton
Mom's brother: Clinton
Mom's brother's wife: Clinton
Mom's brother's ex-wife: Clinton
Mom's brother's oldest son: Clinton
Mom's brother's middle son: Stein
Mom's brother's youngest son: Clinton
Paternal grandfather: Clinton
Paternal grandmother: Clinton
Maternal grandmother: Clinton

You see, outside of the United States, people are not so stupid about this election. We literally cannot believe that you people are coming close to bungling an absolutely obvious choice.

That being said, I will admit that a lot of us see Trump and see the way he's ridiculed and jump on the bandwagon because Canadian nationalism is based in part on the idea that we're better than Americans. So assuming that all of us were American, the only above votes that would change would be my mom's brother and his wife. They are bigoted fools who would totally fall hook, line, and sinker for Trump if it wasn't culturally encouraged to laugh at him and the stupid Americans.

My mom is a hardcore anti-Clinton partisan, though I don't know that she'll vote for Trump either. She dislikes Trump less than Clinton, but she does not believe in voting for "the lesser of two evils".

My best friend and his family love Trump. They're planning to have a celebratory dinner if he wins.

My coworkers are planning to hold their noses and vote for Clinton. Jokes at Clinton's expense are almost as common as jokes at Trump's extent in my workplace. With that said they skew pretty liberal overall, so their choice is clear.

Sister: Clinton (Indiana)
Dad: Clinton (Michigan)
Mom: Clinton (Michigan)

I'm pretty sure everyone on my mom's side is voting/has voted for Clinton. At least three of them voted for Romney in 2012, AFAIK.

My Dad's side is more evenly split although all of them voted for Romney in 2012, so I'll take it.

Me: Clarence Thomas/Chuck Baldwin
Dad: Gary Johnson
Mom: No clue but she hates both candidates
Brother: Gary Johnson

Of my close friends I've polled IRL (Real scientific and accurate)
Fhtagn: Jill Stein
Fhtagn's BF: Rand Paul/Ron Paul
Friend 1: Randy Lahey/Trevor Corey
Friend 2: Jim Webb/Colin Powell
Friend 3: Batman/Macgyver
Friend 4: Michael Jordan/ Shaquielle O'Neil
Friend 5: Jill Stein
Friend 6: Gary Johnson
Friend 7: Gary Johnson
Friend 8: Gary Johnson
Friend 9: Gary Johnson
Friend 10: Hillary
Friend 11: Hillary
Friend 12: Hillary
Friend 13: Trump
Friend 14: Trump

So 6 Votes for Johnson, 3 votes for Hillary, 2 for Jill, 2 for Trump, and 6 write-ins.

Mom: Hillary, reluctantly
Dad: Neither, possibly write-in for McMullin
Brother: Can't vote, but supports Hillary
Maternal Grandmother: Hillary, very reluctantly
Maternal Grandfather: Hillary
Paternal Grandfather: Trump, but he probably won't be voting
Maternal Aunt: Hillary
Maternal Uncle: Either write-in McMullin, or reluctant Hillary
Maternal Aunt #2: Hillary (I assume)
Maternal Uncle #2: Hillary
Paternal Uncle: Either Trump, Johnson, or write-in McMullin
Paternal Aunt: Either Trump, Johnson, or write-in McMullin
Paternal Aunt #2: Hillary
Paternal Uncle #2: Hillary
Paternal Aunt #3: Don't know, suspect Hillary
Paternal Uncle #3: Don't know, suspect Johnson

As for my friends, more probably support Hillary than support Trump, but most seem to dislike both of them.

Me (VA): Stein
Boyfriend (VA): Rand Paul/Ron Paul
Mom (VA): very strongly supports Clinton
Brother (VA): likely Clinton
Other brother (CO): likely Clinton, maybe Johnson
Dad (FL): probably not voting, but wouldn't surprise me if he votes Trump
Grandpa (AK): either not voting or reluctantly Trump
One of my Uncles (AK): leaning Johnson
A different Uncle (SC): Trump because he "tells it like it is" and thinks we should carpet bomb the Middle East
One of my Aunts (NC): Mickey Mouse
One of my cousins (VA): writing in Bernie
Another Uncle (OH): Trump
Great Aunt (OH): Trump
Another cousin (SC): likely Trump

Mr. Reactionary (VA): Clarence Thomas/Chuck Baldwin
Best friend #1 (VA): Clinton
Best friend #2 (VA): very reluctantly Clinton
Best friend #3 (VA): not voting (though might possibly go Johnson)
Best friends #4-5 (VA): not voting (one doesn't care and the other says she doesn't know enough about politics to make an informed decision)

I have too big of a family to type everyone, so I stuck with the family members I actually talk about politics with.

Family
Mother's side: My mother, aunt, and grandma are all voting for Hillary
Father's side: Pretty strongly divided. There's way too many for me to ever keep track of this, but the ones I'm most confident of are my dad, who's voting for Hillary without hesitation, and my oldest aunt, who's voting Trump, partially because Hillary is a woman. Going beyond that, I think it's more Trump than Hillary supporters, although my little cousins were all pretty enthusiastic about Bernie.

Friends
Almost everyone sees Hillary as, at the very least, the lesser evil. Most of my friends were Bernie supporters, and I could probably count the number of Trump supporters I regularly talk to on my fingers

Teachers
AP Stats: Trump. He's really quiet about politics, but my friend asked him and apparently he's a Trump supporter.
Psychology: Hillary. She talks about politics quite a bit, and she really doesn't try to hide it.
Economics: Not sure. He seems pretty conservative, so I'm guessing Trump, but this one's probably the biggest question mark
AP Gov: This one's also tough. He's obviously a Republican, and I originally pegged him as a #NeverTrump Republican, but based on how he's been talking the past few days, especially how much he's been talking up the FBI scandal with Hillary, and his outright denial of Trump's sexual assault accusations, I'm thinking it might be Trump.
AP Lit: He told us he'd vote for Hillary even if she died before the election
Nanotechnology (Normal Teacher): Hillary. She told us she preferred Bernie, though.
Nanotechnology (Long-term sub): No clue. I get a sort of Republican vibe, but I think that's just the Texas accent. On the other hand, she's literally a scientist, so probably not a Trump supporter. But beyond stereotyping the average supporter of each candidate, I have literally nothing to go on here.
French: Hillary. She's talked about Trump and Le Pen in negative connotation before.

Not from the US, but my mother told me that one of our relatives in New Jersey is voting Trump. Propaganda scared her, and according to her many others in the Jewish community there, that Clinton will start a nuclear war.

That's my close family, and I have a large extended family so won't bother guessing for others. My friends at school are probably like 50% Clinton, 25% Trump, 25% Neither (although most disliked both anyways) or Johnson.
