"When it comes down to his actually doing his job, actually caring about the people of this state, he is like the kind of people I grew up with in small-town Iowa in Gilbert," said poll respondent Jason Eness-Potter, 42, an independent voter and nurse from Iowa City who supports Grassley. "To me, he is like Uncle Grassley. He is a good guy, despite his political beliefs."

Quote
"Yes, he has been in office for a long time, and at times I have wondered if maybe he has been in too long," Tillotson said. "But I like the things that he has done and the decisions that he has made. I really feel that he does look out for the little people, and especially being an Iowa farmer he kind of knows how it all really goes.”

Horrible, horrible state.

Pity that Iowa has decided to go the way of Arkansas, but considering how many young people from there aren't staying there, it might have been inevitable. Small loss, considering that larger states like VA, NC, and GA are trending D.
