This is not an interim progress report, the FBI review is done; nearly all documents were duplicates or personal, @PeteWilliamsNBC reports

Lots of interesting behind the scenes news today:

--Isakson saying Garland will likely be confirmed in the lame duck session
--Chuck Todd implying that Trump is losing the early vote in Florida and is in an almost inescapable hole due to Hispanics
--Now Comey clearing Clinton again and taking his original letter back

I think the GOP is starting to see the writing on the wall

The GOP could do well in some other states; they could make NY a little competitive than ever, with NYC's Trump, I won't be surprised if Trump does well in white areas of the Bronx. The election is not over--yet.

About damn time. Anyone with a brain in their skull knew this was nothing but hot air. Clinton is not a criminal, she's not corrupt, and she's not a bad person, despite how the right has tried for over two decades to paint her that way. She'll win and deserves a landslide for all the nonsense she has had to and will continue to endure thanks to the right-wing which simply can't tolerate a strong liberal woman, just as they couldn't stand a strong liberal Black man as President.

Tell that to Susan Sarandon, Jill Stein, and Nina Turner. Jeanine Pirro as well.

I know the Left has our fair share of nutjobs too. But few people pay attention to those people. Tens of millions listen to FOX, talk radio, right-wing social media, and the Republican Party and Republican elected officials.

I hear she personally discovered the cure for cancer too! How dare you not mention that, are you another one of these right-wing smear artists? Wink

Anyway, this whole thing will go down as the Sheffield Rally/Hurricane Sandy/Madrid attacks/BigotGate/Bin Laden video/EdStone of this election. By that I mean that it probably won't have too much impact on the actual result but the media and certain poor-grade historians can point to it.

James Comey should rest and resign anyway. Time for a new FBI Director in my opinion.

Really appreciate the FBI putting us through that as a country. Totally worth it.

I hope the Trump camp listens to you and tries for New York. Maybe he should spend the last few days campaigning in Harlem!

Even where I live (Croatia), the main TV networks and newspapers are reporting this as breaking news.

LOL

I wonder if this will reflect on the final result.

Then why did you, your colleagues, and your candidate attack Comey and his credibility?

I marathoned those movies the last two days. Felt like they would set the appropriate mood for the election.

Not surprising.  This will probably cancel out (at a minimum) the damage done to her chances by Comey's initial report.  And the obvious difference between then and now is that now there's very little time left to make up any deficits.

Comey is done no matter who wins.  Clinton would think he did too much; Trump would think he didn't do enough.

My question is, didn't Clinton actually drop when the first all-clear was given, just because the media was saying "FBI" and "emails"? Part of me thinks this will help, another part of me thinks they should've just neglected mentioning it entirely as it might damage Clinton's numbers like the initial clearing.
