Even FBM sounds like a NO on Tillerson:

Marco Rubio ‏@marcorubio  13m13 minutes ago
Being a "friend of Vladimir" is not an attribute I am hoping for from a #SecretaryOfState - MR

Little Marco is too cowardly to vote no

Now that they've won re-election, Rubio and McCain have alot more breathing room to speak out. Whether they do or not remains to be seen.

At this Point it's high unlikely Tillerson makes it even out of the Foreign Relations Committee for a Full Senate Vote.

Honestly, I don't understand why Heidi would even want to join his administration. It's looking like it will have great potential to be spectacularly corrupt and hated, and by joining she will buy herself only an extra 2 years in public office assuming she were to lose in 2018, so how is this good for her? Does she really want being a member of Trump's cabinet on her resume? His reelection is no more a shoe-in than hers, so it's quite possible that she gets just 2 more years at the expense of her integrity/image. Just seems like a sucky deal to me.

But, then again, maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

Yeah it would be political suicide for her.

Yeah it would be political suicide for her.

You're both approaching it from a partisan hack perspective.  She's thinking about how she can best serve her country.

When Trump has an agricultural disagreement with her, or when he becomes very unpopular, she can resign. It gives her bipartisan credentials in future ND elections and allows her some experience.

It may also simply be a way out from a 2018 Senate race that she always knew she was profoundly, manifestly unlikely to win. If Heitkamp ever wants to run for Governor, this'll be a very useful piece of experience to hold. I don't know that Senate elections in North Dakota are even hypothetically winnable for Democrats in the near future.

The problem with Tillerson, in my judgement, is not even that he’s moderate towards Russia. I’d actually prefer someone who is not a war hawk and who likes to talk rather than fight. It’s for sure difficult that he’s politically inexperienced, but I assume that a dude like this is able to learn that business. So, that’s not the biggest problem. The biggest problem I see is that he has potential conflicts of interest. Here we have a dude who has been a life-long employee of ExxonMobil. So I guess he is very loyal to (t)his company. Nothing bad with being loyal to a company in particular, but it may become a problem if he switches from the CEO’s chair to the State Department. ExxonMobil is world-wide operating player. If Tillerson is at the State Department, every decision, every trip, every recommendation to the president he makes will raise the question whether it was aimed to benefit his former employer and its business interests around the globe. The Trumpster for his part doesn’t seem to understand this, or he simply doesn’t care. Or both.

That only works if Trump is a moderate success or better. More likely, she's chaining herself to the Titanic. h

Reinforcing what we know already, Heitkamp is Trump's top choice for Agriculture, but her fellow ND Dems think she's unlikely to take the job.

One of the more interesting appointments yet to be discussed will be the U.S. Trade Representative.

Should be fun.

Yeah, I don't see Heidi winning reelection. Cramer is a solid opponent who doesn't really have the negatives that Berg had.

I could actually see Heidi trying to build up some momentum for a run at Gov, I've heard some people say that is the job she covets.

BTW, saw a report on Twitter that Kristi Noem is now being vetted for USDA. Interesting in that she's been running for Gov, but she'd be a logical choice
