I sort of wonder who the Press Secretary is going to be.  I imagine it'll probably be Kellyanne Conway or Hope Hicks, right?

Then again, if Trump walls the White House off to the press, it might not even matter.

EDIT: Apparently, Laura Ingraham is on the short list.  Oh boy...
http://thehill.com/homenews/news/305754-laura-ingraham-under-consideration-for-white-house-press-secretary

Here's hoping we get a few more Nazi salutes out of her.

Predictit has markets on many of the Cabinet jobs.  Here are the favorites for various positions:

https://www.predictit.org/Browse/Group/81/Cabinet

State: John Bolton
Defense: Jeff Sessions
Attorney General: Rudy Giuliani

Treasury: Steve Mnuchin
Homeland Security: David Clarke
HHS: Ben Carson
Interior: Forrest Lucas
Commerce: Linda McMahon
Labor: Victoria Lipnic
Agriculture: Chuck Conner
Veterans Affairs: Jeff Miller

dear god

we dun f-ed up big time

I would be extremely relieved if Trump somehow spared us from David Clarke and what would obviously be a horrible and terrifying reign.

With Paul opposing both Bolton and Giuliani, would be hard to see either get out of the committee.

Let's see if Rand shows enough spine to actually vote against them.

also, in a sigh of relief, Mike McCaul, pretty conservative Republican but generally not a fascist, is interested in the Homeland Security job. I hate rooting for McCaul, but anything to prevent god damn David Clarke or Joe Arpaio.

Price is not a bad choice, but he'd probably serve Republicans better as the fail safe option in case the Freedom Caucus ends Paul Ryan.

Also I thought for sure Cotton was using the Senate as a place to launch a future bid for President - although maybe he sees being in charge of Defense as a better launching point.

From a policy perspective, obviously, Cotton is a cartoonish nightmare.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/peter-hoekstra-cia-director-trump-231492

Potential Trump pick for CIA director is none other than Pete "THERE WERE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION" Hoekstra, who is also known for being a very prominent lobbyist with clients domestic and abroad.

I mean, what kind of fool actually believed Trump's anti-corruption rhetoric?

Miller is the only one of those that I think will get an easy confirmation.

Rohrabacher is perfect, and I think Trump would be very wise to appoint him; he won't, of course, because he never does exactly what I'd really want him to do. Trump is going to Trump, after all. But still, Rohrabacher would be excellent.

Rohrabacher is a bit nutty, but he's so preferable to Giuliani and Bolton that it would be almost a relief if he were picked.

Trump knows exactly what he's doing - he's giving patronage to all of his friends who helped him along the way.

Republicans can have Manchin's seat if he's literally doing that. I mean what's the point of having a Democrat senator if he's going to vote for someone we rejected for being horrible 30 years ago and he's just as horrible now.

This is fcking bizarre. I used to have such a crush on Tulsi Gabbard because she was pro-Bernie and I got to see her speak at the rally Bernie held at my school, but now I'm just plain disgusted.

Gabbard's always been a horrifying blue dog with an eye towards self preservation above all else.

Maybe Giuliani won't get either State or Homeland Security:

To his credit, Obama put actual Republicans on his cabinet. The democrat I could even conceive of as one that would still register as Democrat today is probably Gabbard, and even then it's Gabbard.

I truly think that Trump offering Romney Secretary of State may only be to discredit Romney.

And also there may be a third person who comes down the middle and sweeps the job from both Romney and Giuliani, perhaps Corker.

Locking in my bet for Corker heading the state department. Patreaus is rising in the ranks to fourth and Romney is at a distant third behind Giuliani.

Corker is certainly the easiest confirmation of the four - only far righties are complaining about him.

I think Kushner also favored Pence over Christie, so he seems to be voice within the Trump camp pushing for more traditional Republican voices.

Joe Scarborough ‏@JoeNBC  2h2 hours ago
The SecState process continues. Trump considered the Romney meeting "great" but is expanding options and looking at Exxon CEO RexTillerson.

1. So what we're learning from this is that Trump has essentially no idea at all what kind of SoS he wants.
2. Jesus ing Christ.

so this is what draining the swamp looks like?

I'm still thinking Corker, but Tillerson's stock is rising rapidly.
