Well? I think it is well time for her to step down and allow a new generation of House Democratic leadership.

Who would replace her if she was to leave the house leadership?

"lose" not "loose"

She hates the 2nd-in-command guy, from back when they were coworkers in their 20's.

I like Pelosi, let her stay, at least until we have someone better.

If anyone is familiar with British politics from back in the day, they may know that Attlee stayed as Labour leader for way past his sell-by-date so that Herbert Morrison would not be able to succeed him. It's same with Pelosi and Hoyer.

The Pelosi-Hoyer rivalry will make a fascinating book one day. I imagine the relationship and how it's evolved has defined the party for the last 40 years.

Xavier Becerra and Ben Ray Lujan are the next in line. Jim Clyburn might be a good compromise between the Hoyer and Pelosi factions, except he's born in 1939/1940, too.

I'm afraid Xavier Becerra is the Democratic Eric Cantor.

Why? Does he have issues with the base?

Maybe the last ten, sure.

Well defined for the last ten. Maybe defined was the wrong word for the 30 before that. Rather, symptomatic.

She should have bailed in 2011. Even if by some miracle we took the House, we'd never hold it so long as she was in charge. I keep seeing commercials against my local Democratic sacrificial lamb that always go like this:

Suzana Shkreli was handpicked by Nancy Pelosi to support her agenda to destroy America and its Christian values...Shkreli is just a partisan hack who would side with Pelosi 100% of the time. She failed as a prosecutor, don't let her fail in Washington.

In my humble opinion, she should have stepped down a long time ago and tried to pass the reins off to some young blood, as the Congressional GOP has gotten much younger. (Top 5 House Dems ~65; Top 5 GOP ~54; avg House Dems ~60; avg House GOP ~55). She lost bigly in 2010, hasn't done anything since, and is just standing in the way of the fresh Democratic success. But apparently criticizing her for being old is sexist.... So I guess she can stay on as long as she feels like it...

That's what they say about every single Democratic House or Senate leader. They said it about Harry Reid, and now they're going to say it about Chuck Schumer. And if Pelosi was replaced, they'd say it about whoever her replacement was.

Honestly, she should. She's lost two major House campaigns and I know she's a big get as a fundraiser but it's time for fresh blood. Also... she's too much of an anchor in the kinds of districts we need to flip the House
