1996. I remember Buchanan winning NH. They showed him on TV, wearing an idiotic hat.

2004. Same here. The first think I can remember about elections is seeing Bush on TV coming out of a helicopter and my mom mentioning she hopes Kerry wins.

1992. I remember a bigger deal being made of Bush breaking his tax pledge than historical accounts I've read indicate.

It kinda sucks being a Republican Millenial because you can only remember one election where the GOP nominee won the popular and electoral vote.

2000, faintly.

2008, in a serious manner, as that was my first election that I was eligible to vote in. Supported Obama/Biden that year.

First one I remember: 2000.

I sort of gradually got more interested in each election, but the first time I was really aware of the primaries, and paid some attention to polls and how states were going to vote, was 2008.

1964. I was a child, but election was memorable... I also remember Kennedy's murder of 1963...

1996. I was in 1st grade and we had a school-wide mock election. I voted for Bob Dole. Sad

I also remember getting one of those Scholastic News pamphlets and the cover story was Bill Clinton's reelection. He was kneeling on the ground taking pictures with kids.

1980.  I was on Taiwan Province as a kid just starting elementary school.  Everyone was publicly for Reagan since Carter betrayed us by recognizing the our evil rival the PRC.

1992. All I remember was being for Perot because he was the underdog. In retrospect, a precursor to my liberal politics.

2000, I was five. I remember being in kindergarten and voting in the mock election. Pretty sure I voted for Al Gore.

2008, I remember asking my parents who they voted for in the primary and being fascinated by a list of numbers which I later learned were poll averages for the states. IIRC, I supported Obama (because I was sexist when I was 5)

First one I remember is 2000, first one I followed was 2004.

My first political memory is saying at some point during late 1999 that I supported Buchanan because I thought it was cool that he had the same last name as a past president, and my mother telling me gravely that no, no I didn't.

2000: I would've been in 3rd grade. Me & my sister were watching MTV and remember Rock the Vote. My family were strong Clinton/Gore supporters, but we were disappointed to discover that Tipper Gore & Lynne Cheney were strong music censorship activists. I also have memories of Bill Bradley, Rage Against the Machine's DNC concert, Florida Florida Florida, Butterfly ballots, and the Ryder Truck driving the ballots off.

2004: I remember being a big Howard Dean fan and disappointed that he didn't do well. Other then that, I just remember not knowing who won until my Dad picked me up from school the next day and told me Ohio had gone for Bush

2008: The election that really got me deeply interested in politics. CNN was on 24/7 here and its when I started reading the polls daily. I remember Obama entering the race and really getting invested during the end of the Democratic Primary. I watched all the debates and vividly remember Election Night on CNN

Wow you are old!

My first one I remember vividly in 1996. When I was eight also. 1992, I was four, so had no clue.

The first one I paid attention to was with any coherence was 2000. My most disappointing election was 2012 when Romney lost.

1988 - Required project in 6th grade Social Studies.  Even as a kid, I realized how much time was spent on mudslinging and how little time was spent on actual issues.

I've been a news addict since 9/11 and have followed all the elections since then closely.  I never thought I'd see the pettiness and nastiness of '88 again.  Until 2016 happened.
