They call themselves Magyars and their official name is Magyarország.

No for a large number of reasons.  I mean its perfectly normal for other countries to use translated names for  - the Lithuanian for Hungary is Vengrija, would you also want them to change that to something else - you could possibly go for Magjarija (the little y doesn't exist in Lithuanian other than for things like names, j sounds the same though) but that that sounds really bad.

I've always found the wee variations in what countries call each other really interesting; it'd be a shame to get rid of that.

Yes. As a matter of fact an international treaty should be passed to force everybody to call each country by their name in their native language.

What if they have multiple native languages?

It should depend on what is most comely spoken.

But you do bring up a good point.

My proposition will be expanded to include cities, counties, providinces, and landmarks by their local name too!

So good luck with Greenland (Kalaallit Nunaat or Grønland and the "ø" doesn't at all sound like a "o") or Faroe Island (Føroyar or Færøerne). Interesting enough the English name would translate into "Sheep Islands Islands".

Ködörösêse tî Bêafrîka, Hrvatska, Dhivehi Raajje, Aorōkin M̧ajeļ, Arts'akhi Hanrapetut'yun,  Umbuso weSwatini, Al-’Imārat Al-‘Arabiyyah Al-Muttaḥidah,

and then there are the countries that have been known by another name fro centuries or millenia
like Masr, Zhōngguó. Chosŏn/Hanguk or Bhārat
And don't get me started on cities or landmarks

maybe we should also make it so that you have to use the correct alphabet to refer to a country as well; rather than latinising everything?

Cashew: what city do you prefer; Санкт-Петербург, دبي or 香港?‎‎

One I'm curious about is Georgia. I assume we call it Georgia because it's patron saint is St. George, but why not then also not call England Georgia? Georgians call it Sakartvelo and the Russians call it Gruziya. Why Georgia?

Wikipedia says it stems from Persian "gurgan" which would mean "land of the wolves", and the Russian form comes from that, too.
