Think of this scenario

If Trump would have taken Minnesota, he could have lost Florida, Arizona and STILL win the election.  Was Trump not the guy to win the western US?

Apparently not due to Latino voters.

What are you talking about? He was only slight under Romney in Idaho, Utah, and Arizona, but still won all of them. Nevada and Colorado were within low single digits, with Obama having won them by +5 back in 2012. Clinton was under 60% in California despite Trump having lost Orange County. North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming all swung hard to the GOP.

This a false narrative, and I do believe I've just blown the  out of it.

CO was surprisingly close IMO. AZ, GA and TX should be a cause of concern for the GOP in the long term. VA and NV are likely gone for Republicans.

They said Virginia was going to be a D+8 state, and most seemed to be thinking Nevada was going to go D+5. Instead we basically got a tied Virginia and Nevada much closer than 2012. Arizona is indeed concerning, while I'm not worried about Georgia and Texas. Trump, so far as we know, actually improved GOP standing with Hispanics and increased White turnout, while it appears the Obama Coalition doesn't exactly work without Obama with regards to Blacks.
