The state was one point more democratic than in 2012, even as most of the country swung republican. If Trump's upset couldn't win, nobody can.

No it is not. Trump only lost because of NOVA an dbecause Tim Kaine was on the ballot.

We pulled off a +5 victory.

We aren't safe D, by any means. But this was pretty historic, as our neighbors to the north and south went for Trump.

Bernie would've lost it.

That was the gamble, elect Bernie and get most of the Midwest, but lose Virginia and Nevada for sure,thus getting 2000/2004 again

Or try for A New South, and lose the Midwest.

I do not think it is "safe" by any means but I do tend to agree that right now that it leans Blue in the same that that I think Ohio now Leans Right


Virginia in 2020 will depend on how/if Trump adds to his coalition
