Honestly I can't say. A few possibilities though:

Yuschenko? Seen as a symbol of democracy to most in the west, but he does have some dodgy political connections that will turn off the left, and he pulled the troops out of Iraq, pissing off the right. Still he could do it if he's only facing idealogues and boring people near the end.

Singh? Inoffensive to both sides, but not boring. Maybe the ultimate "compromise" winner?

Kirchner? Leftists like him because he's trying to bring in the "Dirty War" criminals. Righties have no real reason to hate him (outside of "I love war criminals no matter how bad they just as long as they are friendly with the US" Jake). Possible dark horse?

Yuschenko was someone I thought would win too. Gusmao has a chance I think, as well. If this London bombing thing is still in the news, it may give Tony Blair a boost. Then there is Paul Martin. Vicente Fox has a good chance too.

Gusmao has a good chance too.

Blair will last long, but sooner or later us lefties will take him out, probably as a retaliation for some leftist.

Martin's caught in a scandal. Could do him in. Righties aren't too fond of him anyway.

Fox has the advantage of not being heavily hated by either side, but most conservatives think he's been too incooperative in restricting immigration, and he's still a conservative, a turn off to leftists. Plus there was "jobs even blacks won't do" comment. I don't think he'll last long once all the dictators and boring people are gone.

Karzai and Talabani could do it too.

I think it might be one of the antipodeans-Helen Clark is liked by the left and not cared about by the right; John Howard is liked by the right and not cared about by the left.

Hey now, I hate John Howard Wink

I thought of Karzai and Talabani too, but they have that "installed leader" effect to them that might not take them far enough.

(Roots for Karzai or Singh of all those mentioned. Makes mental note to vote off that crook Yuschenko as soon as possible.)

I really don't know too much about Singh, but that's basically my biggest gripe with Paul Martin, he's just no Jean Chretien. He hasn't really done anything to piss me off but that's the point, he's just a boring politician, no real reason to like him either.

If you were a Canadian, you would find reason to hate him Smiley I believe politically, you are similar to me, and I would say he deffinately no Chretien. In fact, he made that pretty clear by forcing Chretien loyalists out through nomination battles and bullying.

Singh, Karzai, Blair, and Koizumi are the four I'd assume are most likely.

Except for his government's kissing up to the Nepalese Maoists and the general anti-American attitudes of his regime. Of course, amongst the left, those are positives... Roll Eyes Tongue

I have some favourites, but I will keep them secret. I think that a discussion about who will win can affect to the result too much... so hush!
