Not much of a surprise.  The "normal" patterns held up except this time Trump had more appeal to Staten Island Italians and less appeal to Hasidic Jews compared to Romney.

80% in Yorkville and 77% in Carnegie Hill? I'm proud of my neighbors.

Trump didn't win the Trump Tower precinct.  I think Romney either did or was tied in that precinct in 2012.

Did Trump win anywhere in NYC that was not heavily Orthodox Jewish (like Midwood in Brooklyn that my Dad grew up in), or heavily Italian precincts?

In the place where I used to live in Brooklyn Heights before I got married voted

Hillary Clinton (D)    82.2% (471)
Donald Trump (R)    15.01% (86)
Gary Johnson (L)    0.7% (4)

Sounds about right although there are a lot of Italians in those few blocks and I figured that there might be a hidden Trump vote there an get him up to above 30%.  I guess not.

Trump won middle class white Glendale and Middle Village. I knew it. I knew it.

Trump did well in City Island, Throgs Neck, Bronx.

Trump won in the more heavily Irish areas of the Rockaways, like Belle Harbor.  He also won a precinct in the heavily Irish community of Woodlawn, the Bronx.  Whitestone, Queens, which he largely won, has a bit of a mix of white ethnics and Asians, and is not necessarily Italian or Orthodox.

Trump did well in City Island, Throgs Neck, Bronx.

But he didn't win either community outright.  He seems to have only won the Country Club section of the Bronx.

He won all of my Soviet Jewish (definitely not orthodox) relatives in Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay.

I'm surprised that Clinton won City Island, Bronx which is a usual conservative-leaning Irish and Italian enclave. She also did well in some parts of Woodlawn, another conservative-leaning enclave.

Woah, woah, woah, what happened to Trump winning Queens? There was definitely someone here who told me Trump was going to win Queens.

Trump did pretty bad in the urban areas (although turnout maybe be an issue for Hillary) but swept the rural areas big. Look at the numbers in upstate NY - Trump was pretty strong!
