Besides Warren/Booker/Gillibrand/Castro/Cuomo etc, are they are any *viable* dark horses you can think of?

Do de Blasio and Harris count as dark horses?

I've been looking back on the Steve Bullock 2016 gubernatorial campaign - I hope he's considered for at least Vice President, if not considers a full on presidential campaign. His campaign was largely focused on beating back corporate spending in his state, saving public lands and public schools, and standing against a Montana Sales Tax which would dis proportionally harm the poor. Bullock ran on some conservative planks, sure, but this is a red state still we're talking about. He certainly fills the populist element decently well.

I think there'll be at least one non-politician in the primary this time.

Al Franken.

He's a progressive. He can win back the Midwest. He's uniquely fit to take on Trump in that he's a former entertainer and he doesn't always talk like a typical politican.

Mark Cuban. Tom Steyer.

John Hickenlooper. Jerry Brown.

Tom Perez. Joaquin Castro.

James Stavridis. Jen Psaki.

Kate Brown. Tammy Baldwin.

Lots of directions this could go.

Tammy Duckworth was practically manufactured in a Democrat Party boardroom.

I mean, could he run? Yeah. There's no reason to think he'd get any real traction, though.

Oh, sorry, you want me to pick a dark horse who's *expected* to get traction!

Which candidates wouldn't count as dark horses? Warren, Kaine, maybe Cuomo?

I'm pretty sure he's a conservative, although I guess he can run in whatever party he wants.

I agree that Al Franken could be a dark horse. I could certainly see him getting hyped up. I mean he's already been hyped up a bunch on this board.

^Also, O'Malley could be a dark horse too. Didn't even think of him but if he shows a more human side he definitely could be viable.

After further thought, I'm going to go out on a very long limb and say Oprah Winfrey.

Tom Hanks/Oprah 2020

Of course, in that scenario, Trump would dump Pence for Bruce Willis
