Ellison apparently has received support from every voting member in Minnesota, Nebraska, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Vermont, along with the majority of DNC voters from Texas and California.

Also, does anybody have a list of all the voting DNC members?
Fingers crossed

Like a list of actual names? I don't think so.

Vox has a pretty detailed article though.

If i'm not mistaken the DNC gives more delegates to state that have been more democratic for the past presidential cycles. So Ellison should benefit from the Left Coast, New England, and Upper Midwest especially if Buttigieg withdraws. The states Perez has claim support from so far are territories and states that are not really the most Democratic.

Perez is a disgrace to mankind. Everything wrong with politics. Ellison isn't perfect, but choosing him would perhaps be the start of moving the party's moral compass back in the right direction.

It's probably going to end-up looking closely like the primary map

Big deviations already in the form of CA and TX

I very likely did a heck of a lot more to elect Democrats than you did this cycle.

Why didn't you guys do more to elect Colin Van Ostern and stop Sununu? He had no business winning that race. Is it because Van Ostern's not a White woman?

Well I didn't because I'm currently in college in IL.

Also. ~~~~~NH is a Swing State~~~~~

Gotta keep the seat open for flawless, beautiful Stefany Shaheen to run in 2018.

I assume the mid-Atlantic + Illinois will be Perez country? These are the States with the worst Democratic machines.

I hope the rest of Midwest will go for Ellison.

According to the DNC schedule, time is reserved for DNC officer elections from 10AM-3PM. In addition to Chair, they will be electing officers for Vice Chairs, Finance, Treasurer, and Secretary.

National Chair is the first position that will be voted on. Under DNC procedure, the seven candidates (Perez, Ellison, Buttigieg, Boynton Brown, Greene, Peckarsky, and Ronan) will all be on the first three ballots unless they voluntarily withdraw. Unless someone has gotten a majority of the vote, the least supported candidate is eliminated for future balloting. This process repeats until someone gets a majority.

At the start, each candidate will get 10 minutes for nominating and seconding speeches (max four different speakers. DNC members then get two minutes to electronically vote. At least 10 minutes must pass between each ballot.

I expect the South to go big time for Perez as well. Unfornetly, we won't know the exact distribution with it being a secret vote.

I haven't posted in this thread yet, but I just wanted to pop in and say I'm pulling for Ellison. The Democrats need to make sure the Bernie wing has some faith in the greater party, which they failed to do in 2016, and it cost them dearly. Even if he doesn't do a great job, I think we have less to lose if a Bernista does badly than if a Clintonite manages to alienate a massive chunk of the party, which I think is what would happen if we put in Perez.

Definitely expecting a Perez win, sadly.  Progressives will be told to "wait until next time" again.

Oh well.  Rome wasn't built in a day.  Still, fck Perez and fck Obama for getting involved.

Wow Obama is really going to make the South vote against nominating the first black DNC chair since Ron Brown in 89.

Why are progressives worried about this so much? Party Chair is basically meaningless unless they're completely incompetent.

With Ellison getting a majority of the delegation from Texas, I don't think we can conclude that it's just going to be the primary map all over again. I still have hope that Ellison can pull this out.

Alan Dershowitz threatens to quit the Democratic Party if Keith Ellison is elected DNC Chair.  Despite this, I still would prefer Tom Perez over Keith Ellison.
