Jehmu Greene got 0.5 votes, dropped out an endorsed Perez. Perez 0.5 votes away from victory lol.

He still needs an additional 0.5 votes on top of that. I think you need at least 214.5 to win.

This is like when Clinton responded to a $15 minimum wage with "how about $12.50?".

Wtf is up with all the hate for Perez? DNC Chair isn't a policy figure. And even if it was, he's just as progressive as Ellison.

Then why is he running? This is just a way for the Clinton wing to keep any possible control out of the hands of the Bernie wing.

Go Perez! I may be a Republican (of sorts, in the Trump era), but I'd rather have two functioning parties in the US as opposed to one dominant party and one Sword of Damocles like in the UK.

And instead we get neither.

To put this all in perspective, if you told anyone in 2013 that Keith Ellison would be roughly 15 votes away from being elected DNC Chair, they probably wouldn't believe you.

The party is clearly moving left, and that's still an accomplishment.

If I were a Berniecrat I'd rather have Ellison in the House than as fundraisier/hack-in-chief. What if he's replaced on Congress by a Blue Dog? How does that help the movement at all?

Best case he's replaced by another Berniecrat, but the new one will be inexperienced and less effective for a while.

Does Ellison have any realistic chance of winning? The one abstention could go for Perez and it's finished.

Who gives a sh*t, nothing good is gonna come out of Congress any time soon, and 1/435th is an irrelevancy.

He needs all of the Brown votes + one abstention.

perez is also a nightmare/boogeyman for many republicans.

that he is seen as kind of a centrist shill says a lot about change.

Source from Ellison team feels confident, thinks they get all of her votes.

More relevant than a fundraiser who supports ALL democratic nominees no matter what. If the Vermont Democratic Parry decided to nominate against Bernie in 2018, Chairman Ellison will be required to endorse the guy.

I just think it's striking how Ellison blew such a lead, and I supported him. Considering this it's probably best he won't win.

having a hard-fought contest isn't a sign against "unification".

you can try different roads to the same goal.
