Well, congrats to Perez, but he's got his work cut out for him. Hopefully he can listen to people in the party more effectively than the old guards, and move the party to the left.

FWIW, the Democratic elite and base are pretty aligned, far more than the Republicans on the elite/base axis, so this isn't a huge radical rejection or something.

...and Clintonism continues to haunt the Democratic Party even after the 2016 debacle.

Enjoy your losses in 2018 and 2020, Dems, save any major Trump disasters.

I was going to make a joke about how it never will be but Antonio sort of demonstrated it just now.

Good.  The loud minority has not been allowed to hijack the process.

Everybody wins! The Clinton Camp gets their man in a glorified irrelevant fundraising position, and the Bernie Camp gets their man fighting for them in Congress, where policy positions matter.

My frustration isn't about Perez or the proxy war, it's that Ellison would have been really really good at the job

How can anyone think that the odds of a major trump disaster happening between now and Nov. 2018 isn't greater than 50%? I'm not saying the Dems will glide to victory, but Trump is going to hurt a lot of republicans

Seriously, if people who react that way to a party chair election can vote, why not 5 year olds?

Looks like Ellison is co-chair but why do you say that? Reince Priebus should be the model for any chair btw.

Also first Latino DNC chair right?
