Okay, I am no longer worried. Perez did what HRC never did: he extended an olive branch to the other wing of the party the first chance he got.

Very important point. Perez is already better at his job than DWS was.

Also Bernie is the big winner here. 200 Democrats voted for his candidate and the eventual winner has a Labor background as a cabinet official. All around generally almost the best results for Bernie's grand game.

An olive branch means absolutely nothing. But please delude yourselves, we'll need the full eight years.

besides trolling...you are so afraid of - not my words - a(nother) socialist black muslim to crush your president?

He lost, fair and square.  Cry me a river.

There is nothing fair and square about this smoke-filled room of party hacks. They represent nothing but themselves. And they're soon going to learn it the hard way when real Democrats start turning out to vote.

The "real" democrats already turned out to vote last year, and they rejected Bernie's far left ideology big time.  I guess only the white liberals are real Democrats!

But didn't Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Primaries win West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, and same States Donald Trump won ?

I am super close to changing my Political Orientation.......

Of f**k off it's the freaking chair. Get out an put Bernie wingers into congress in 2018
It's funny that so many non-Americans are outraged. It's not their party, it is not their fight.

I have just as much of a stake in the future of this country as you do.
Yes, but that doesn't mean your voice should be listened to in any context outside curious observations. I backed Brexit but I don't go around pissing on UKIP because of their recent infighting; it's not my place.

They were voting against Hillary, not for Bernie.  The real fervor all along has been with the far-far Left.

They may get 8 years but the Democrats will probably own the generation beyond Trump/Pence. This election is a very small harbinger of that.

He said the word state. And no, no one is going to make the Northern Mariana Islands or the U.S. Virgin Islands a state, sorry.

But... there are 57 affiliates of the Democratic Party at the state/equivalent-level: 50 states + 1 district + 5 territories + 1 "Democrats Abroad"

Will Ellison be stepping down from Congress or staying in? I imagine he'd stay in, even after being named deputy.

Why bitch about the grammar usage. The message is clear.  Only bitter pusses and those like you are griping about that.

I hate to be the "come on, let's give him a chance" guy, but... come on, folks. Perez isn't some centrist corporatist hack. He might prove to be an effective, progressive leader. If he ends up being as tone-deaf as people like DWS, I'll be there to call him out on it.
