That's what we need.  A hapless blue dog from a Deep Trump state to alienate the coalition we have while not attracting any of the working class voters we've lost.

Dean is really the only good choice here.

Nah, Ellison is the obvious choice.

An anti-semite leading the Democrat Party.  Just what they need to move to the center, obviously.

Huh

I guess if you are Muslim you are automatically an anti-semite in the Republican world.

That article from 2006 does an amazing job of explaining why Congressional Democrats are lining up behind Elsion instead of Dean: they want one of their own in charge. We need Howard Dean.

Does anyone know how much influence state parties have vs the DC insiders?

I mean seriously, I'm sure Ellison would do fine, but we just lost an election because we nominated the choice of DC's insiders, so let's fix that by nominating the choice of DC insiders

Yet he's also the choice of MoveOn and Sanders.

If Ellison wins, it'll be a good indicator that the Dems learned nothing from 2016.

Huh

To me it shows they have learned from 2016.

So Rachel Maddow's tease for a dark horse candidate never came through?

SC Party Chairman Jamie Harrison announced on her show.

Ellison has the endorsement of  the state chairmen in Wisconsin, Hawaii, Nebraska, and his home state of Minnesota. Also Elizabeth Warren recently formally endorsed Ellison.

So Dems throw out a woman whose only reason for keeping her was identity politics, to hire an anti-Israel 9/11 Truther. Great work guys. Really.

Really self-quoting?

J-Street is great, and believes in the true interests of Israel- a Jewish Democratic state, which requires  a two state solution.

Agreed, they are the best when it comes to Israel and Middle East peace issues.

Tom Perez would be a very strong DNC Chair. He pushed O'Malley to victory in 2006, by a margin almost 5% greater than was thought likely.

Selfishly I'd like to see Perez challenge Hogan, but he would also be a very good DNC Chair.

New public state party chair and vice chair endorsements for Ellison include:

Jim Larson (Montana State Party Chair)
Mark Hammons (Oklahoma State Party Chair)
Victoria Jackson-Stanley (Maryland State Party Vice Chair; Mayor of Cambridge, MD)
Larry Murakami (Alaska State Vice Chair)
Cordelia Lewis Burks (Indiana State Party Vice Chair)
Joe Lowe (South Dakota State Party Vice Chair)

Source

These are the big endorsements, as these folks actually have voting power.

Prez picked up the endorsements of the United Farm Workers and the Firefightets Union. Looks like labor will be divided in the race.
