NYT: Neither Perez nor Ellison has anywhere close to a majority, while Buttigieg is taking flak from other lower-tier candidates.

Multiple ballots maybe, but Perez should prevail. A leading rumour is Buckley endorsing Ellison in exchange for an important technical post. I'd expect Buttigieg to endorse Perez if forced to choose.

Are you f**king kidding me?! Literally all the tops of the party from Chuck, Bernie, Nancy want Keith

This. When Chuck Schumer, the current epitome of the establishment dems, wants Ellison, I dont understand why Perez is such a contender.

Hint: it wasn't in good faith. This is an ancient part of the Establishment playbook. As for my own view, Mondale said it better than I could.

Team Ellison not really denying the number, FWIW.

WaPo: 2-man race. Harrison and Buckley have at least double-digit support, Buttigieg has won good reviews & is a popular 2nd-tier choice but is not in serious contention.

Long New Yorker Ellison profile. Little nugget: Obama is quite interested in the race and feels a responsibility to keep the seat in trusted hands.

Hot take: Buttigieg did pretty well for himself by getting a national media profile without the scarlet letter of national association in a deep-red state, plus no humiliation from actual numbers.
