Basically, he makes 75% of his promises from 2017 up to 2020 on election night. His approval rating is 70%.

- Gets wall built or 50% of it completed
- Country adds millions of jobs, brought back from foreign countries
- Country doesn't go to war
- Decriminalize marijuana nationwide
- Improves relations with Hispanics
- Ends TPP
- Improves infrastructure in the US, gets I-70 finished from Fort Cove Utah to San Francisco.

Trump - 362
Generic Democrat - 176

Don't we already have a wall on a majority of the border, and there's no TPP to end if we don't have it. No war is also easy if you're not a warmonger.
So some of those are easy.

But I-70 to San Francisco built in 4 years? LOL!

I'm dreaming, it could be done if enough man power was available.

If he could do all of these things, I could see this map. Will it happen? No.

The most direct route would be through Yosemite. LOL, not happening. Also, there just isn't very many people between CA-99 and I-15 there. CA-99 might become an official interstate, but not some crazy route east of there.

- I-70 routes northwest to US 50 in west Utah
- Cuts through or near Ely Nevada
- Convert US 6 into I-70 to CA border
- Fork north from Benton, CA onto SH 120 (goes north of Yosemite NP)
- Connect with  US 395 to Fales Hot Springs
- Continue west on SH 108 west until Manteca, CA
- Merge with I-205

Unless Trump again draws a candidate as hated as him, his serious character flaws, scandalous past and offensive behavior will prevent him from doing anything like this.

Against an opponent that a good majority of Americans actually have a favorable opinion of, all those personality issues people love to pretend don't matter will actually matter.

Further, with all that done (or being finished), if his supporters have less to be angry about, why would they be willing to tolerate all those defects and scandals as much? It's not like many of his supporters said he was a good, honest man. Many know he is awful. They were just desperate and saw Clinton as much worse.

CA-120 goes through Yosemite. North of Yosemite valley. Interesting road, it takes you from almost 10,000 feet at the border of Mono county to close to sea level in Central Valley (flatter than the Great Plains). Terrible place for an interstate.

Yes, but as you just pointed out it would literally require the Republican New Deal.  The libertarian wing of congressional R's would flip out before he gets halfway through that list.

But the suburban wing of the GOP will have a rebirth.  The Southern wing of the GOP will be all for this jobs program that will allow its base to miss the fact that Davis-Bacon will be repealed.  (And that's one of my predictions; that Davis-Bacon repeal will be a condition of a massive job program of Rooseveltian scope.)

The "libertarian wing" was put in its place during this election cycle.  As were the "small government" conservatives.  As were the New Federalists.  There is a whole swath of big-government conservative Trump voters that have been roaring for a while now.  Trump has remade the GOP by awaking their own sleeping giants.  And make no mistake; the GOP would not have won if that hadn't happened.

The "blue firewall" is now burnt toast.

If they nominate Cuomo on top of those things, it is possible, but I don't see WA or OR going in his column.

Honestly it's possible that 2020 is a total disaster for Democrats. We do not have even the remotely the infrastructure we thought we did. We have 4 years (really less) to get it together. Will we?

He won't make his promises. He will shrink the gov't and build the wall. Economic conditions will be slow and income inequality will persist.  The chances of Trump pulling it off is small

Hahahaha

It will take a hell of a lot longer than four years to build the wall and I-70. Also, when did I-70 become a new priority? I've heard about building I-19 between Phoenix and Las Vegas (some want to build it to Reno).

Those manufacturing jobs aren't coming back. Even if we start building more stuff in America again, most of that stuff would be made in automated assembly lines unless there's a Luddite Revolution.

If Trump basically becomes the next Eisenhower, this map could happen.
Although it might still be close if Trump does some offensive things and the Democrats nominate a better candidate.

I don't really think it's possible, but yes if Trump does turn out to be the second coming of Andrew Jackson.  I'd flip Virginia and maybe Rhode Island (wouldn't that be a sight to see) too.

No way Trump is winning Washington. Oregon is only possible if Nader 2.0 is involved.

On second thought, this election has taught me not to make statements like this. I doubt Trump would win Washington or Oregon but I'm not going to rule it out.
