Knowing that he's going to fill his cabinet with establishment hacks, would you still vote for him today?

"Establishment hacks"
Did you mean qualified professionals with different views to better inform him and advise him?

The funny thing is if he had done the opposite and brought in inexperienced outsiders the media and the left would criticize him just as much.

So now qualifications matter? Isn't being totally outside of politics and a total novice supposed to be what Trump is about? His cabinet should be full of regular people who have never served in office or even been near government if his campaign promises are true. If he's not putting blue collar workers in his cabinet positions, he's a major hypocrite.

We would indeed, but the funny thing is, Trump was always promising to "drain the swamp" and screw the "establishment". Yet, now, this has been exposed as a gigantic lie. What do his supporters think of this?

Trump, himself, is the change agent.  Is that not yet clear?

I certainly don't blame Trump for wanting people loyal to him, personally, in key positions.  LBJ kept most of the JFK cabinet as holdovers.  IMO, only Dean Rusk served him well.  He should have cleaned house and brought in more of his own people, certainly after the 1964 election.

That's cute, but he's also backed down from plenty of the "changes" he was supposed to make in office. Obamacare, for instance, is not getting repealed.

I don't think anything matters, just as long as Hillary is gone. Trump has a free pass.

you look at the lists filled with people like bannon, gringrich, giuliani, sessions, brownback and your first thought is...."qualified professionals"?

the republican party is IMHO filled with better qualified and more popular persons.

Not everyone who voted for Trump did so because they wanted him to be different from the Republican establishment.

That much should be obvious.

Obviously, but at the same time, it was a central message of his campaign, and it's clear that so many people did vote for him for this reason...

Those are his supporters from within the party though.  I'm not sure he can win here, he just has to exert himself and his agenda after inauguration even if he's surrounded by "hacks".  And what about that line "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer"?  Yeah, I'm going to reserve judgment until around that 100 day mark.

You people were screaming bloody murder because Clinton gave a speech to Goldman Sachs.

Now Trump is going to appoint a GS alum to head Treasury and has another as his closest advisor (Steve Bannon).

Why does he get a pass for that but no one else does?

I didn't vote for The Donald, so I can't answer the question, but I find it refreshing and relieving to learn that he is filling his cabinet with establishment hacks.

My main concerns about The Donald are national security vis-a-vis the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which is a national security measure clothed in economic partnership clothing, and the possibility of a huge national deficit, leading to an even bigger national debt four years from now.  Having a few experienced insiders, or "establishment hacks" if you prefer, alleviates some of that concern.

The dude is like negative 65 days into his presidency. Him appointing Reince is no worse than O appointing Rahm. Bannon, on the other hand, has a troublesome history with anti-semitism.

For me, I could care less about the whole insider/outsider thing and think the whole fight is pretty stupid and silly.
