Because who gives a split! I've been so disillusioned by this election that I have actually convinced myself that I want Bill Gates to run for the Democratic nomination in 2020.

Trump vs Gates

What does the map look like?

If we wanted an outsider, that is what one looks like.

I'd love it, but I'm not sure if he's the best candidate if we're trying to build up our non-establishment credentials.

So, Bill Gates is a great, brilliant man and a nice guy doing wonderful work but
1) he has all the charisma of an unlikable kermit the frog and
2) he's a Republican or at least used to be, so his opinion on economic issues are likely to the right of hillary, overall he's somewhere between warren buffett and arnold schwarzenegger.

Who better to represent the interests of working people than one of the single wealthiest individuals on the planet?

What better way to beat a populist anti-globalist President than nominate a globalist with a legendary inclination for outsourcing? These guys think we voted for Trump because of the size of his wallet? They aren't going to learn anything by 2020 if thoughts like this keep popping up.

Run a labor leader. I could get behind one of they avoid the identity politics.

We definitely need someone who can help the average person do well in a global economy instead of someonw who wants to get rid of it. That is what Carter tried to do if you think of it.

He's been a big supporter of progressive tax reform here in WA, I don't know if I'd go that far.

If the Dems are going to nominate a billionaire, it would likely be Mark Cuban or a Hollywood type.

Tbh i can't think of ANY American billionaires of the top of my head that I think would be tough enough on WS/corporations.  We probably have an equivalent of JK Rowling somewhere that I'm not thinking of, but overall I'm pretty skeptical.

Maybe Oprah? She's worth $3 billion.

also I don't think all the outsourcing would go over will with voters.
