It was originally supposed to be on Thursday, but has been moved to November 30th, might be in an attempt for Nancy Pelosi to whip votes in any potential leadership challenge.

Let's go Tim Ryan!

In all seriousness, I respect her contributions and thought she had a good Speakership, but it's time for Pelosi to go. Keeping the same old around sends the wrong message - and I thoroughly believe House Reps use her to discredit their Democratic challengers.

Agreed. I have profound respect for Nancy Pelosi, but it’s time for a new face.

It's time for new leadership. Ryan (D-OH) for Minority Leader.

Pelosi is already the longest-serving Democratic House leader since Sam Rayburn, and tied with Bob Michel for longest-serving of either party. It's time for her to go.

The irony is that if Pelosi goes she will not let Ryan become Speaker; it would go to Beccera, heck she'd probably even let Hoyer have it before Ryan.

My limited understanding is that the challengers rarely get the position; even if the incumbent resigns

I would be fine with Becerra too, honestly. As long as we get some fresh blood in the place.

I just realized that we could have Speaker Ryan and Minority Leader Ryan.  That could be confusing for less political people!

Count me as on this train.  It's not like I'm incapable of praising (or even voting for, apparently) Democrats, but I REALLY don't see what anyone sees in Pelosi.  Totally unlikable hack with little charisma.

Look, I always liked Pelosi and I appreciate all that she'd achieved, but she'd been a Democratic House leader since 2003 and is tainted by serious defeats. The party really needs a clean break.

There aren't many compelling people who would run. If she is replaced with Becerra or even Ryan (D) I would only consider it a face swap, and nothing actually changing on the inside.

This is very dumb. I worked with an appropriations congressman in DC for two years. Tim Ryan left a very bad impression; he wasn't very good in approps and I doubt he'd be a great Minority Leader. The job of the minority leader is to keep the caucus united, make sure the right members are on the right committees, be the chief negotiator for her caucus with the other side and the White House, and to work with committee leaders to set the party's agenda in the House. It is not to win elections; that is the DNC's job. Nobody was asking if Paul Ryan was going to personally manage to preserve the majority.

Like her or not, Pelosi has been very VERY good at being the House Democratic leader. A change just for the sake of change would be pointless and would probably weaken the Democrat's position in the House even more.
