Can we stop pulling random celebrities out as potential candidates?

A random celebrity was just elected President.

Yeah, but do we need to consider every celebrity alive?

Why not? Trump is practically the bottom of the barrel.

If you were to travel back to, say, 2006 and you were to tell people that a celebrity was going to be elected in 2016 then Trump would be near the top of the guess list (although likely behind Schwarzenegger).

Because it's a very small likelyhood that Katy Perry would run. If we are going to consider celebrities, let's at least have them make sense.

Some who had run for President before and was the figurehead of a political "movement" in birtherism is not just a "random celebrity."

If a celebrity runs, it's probably gonna be Kanye.

Schwarzenegger was born in Austria, so he would be ineligible.

She's not even a good singer! She's grating to listen to, almost as bad as Rihanna or Beyonce.

With "I Kissed A Girl" she should definitely get the LGBT community on board!

If Katy Perry announces that she is considering a run, or if she becomes a regular political commentator, then we should absolutely take her seriously, just as we should take Kanye West seriously. But I don't think we should act like it's especially likely that she'll do that.
