Per Atlas, Arkansas now trended Republican relative to the nation as a whole, as Hillary's PV margin has increased.  Oklahoma and Louisiana may still follow.

It's because of Hillary's estranged niece.

This just shows that this region of the country is stable. Not many Obama/Trump or Romney/Clinton voters round those parts.

I guess I don't know how read trend maps, then. Tongue Forgive my ignorance: why is AR shaded 20% D if it trended Republican?

Blue is Republican, Red is Democrat. Tongue

Unless you mixed up Arkansas with Alaska, which frankly is kinda silly.

Right... and Arkansas is shaded red on the map in the OP. Am I missing something here?

(And yes, I know the difference between Arkansas and Alaska.)

I too remember when Clinton was supposed to be competitive in Arkansas. How emphatically wrong that turned out to be. I wonder if her Arkansas ties got her even 0.1% of the vote relative to how she would have done otherwise.

I suspect OK and LA will also end up trending GOP once all the CA and WA votes come in and giving Clinton a 1.5% PV lead.

What is interesting about this map is that FL both trended Dem but also flipped to GOP at the same time.

it's logical, regarding FL.

fl was more republican than the nation in 2012 too, but high turnout swings it.

as a democrat i would be less troubled about FL, which is getting more dem-friendly, than the rust belt.

Yes, I am aware of where Arkansas is, thank you. From the OP:

Is AR not red on this map?

The problem is the Clintons are decades removed from Arkansas.  They've become "New Yorkers" so to speak.

Louisiana may follow, but Oklahoma is GOP for very different reasons.  It's really nothing whatsoever like AR and LA.

It appears blue for me and some others.  That is bizarre.

I cleared out my browser's cache, and it's definitely blue (GOP) now. Was pink before.

If the direction of a trend can be swung by the voter turnout in California, it's probably not meaningful.
