They are still led by a man who is only there because his constituency is Wall Street.

A man who takes more money from Wall Street than any other Democratic politician names Bernie Sanders to his leadership team. That's the definition of irony.

This leadership team essentially ticks all the boxes of the Democratic Party coalition, save racial minorities. I think it's a good team and it will benefit the Democratic Party immensely to have such a diversity of views and backgrounds represented.

This -and we better get moving on electing racial minorities to the Senate.  It's a travesty that the only African American and Latino senators in the chamber happen to be conservative Republicans.

The question is: Will these people be an effective opposition, or will they roll over and compromise as Ryan tries to rape Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid?

Forgot about him -he is so light skinned (like congressman George Butterfield) that I overlooked the fact that he's black.

It's a good start -let's get more so that our Senate caucus starts to look more like America.

No more identity politics or tokenism. We are a party of ideas, whether they come from three black dudes, three blond haired evangelicals, or a jew, gay, and an evangelical.

I understand in that race there was basically no real choice, but I think I would of just skipped voting for Senate. Chuck will not increase that 30k that's for sure.

Why is it the only people who don't want our political life to be defined by 'identity politics' tend to be white males?  Has anyone ever wondered about that?

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-staff-idUSKBN13A2B8
"Longtime Donald Trump supporter and activist investor Carl Icahn confirmed on Tuesday that the president-elect is looking at Wall Street veteran Steven Mnuchin as his choice for treasury secretary and billionaire Wilbur Ross for commerce secretary."

Pussygrabber's cultists are going to be strongly motivated to hang on to their delusions. The cognitive dissonance of acknowledging reality would likely be fatal.

Admitting racism exists makes them,  uncomfortable.

Harris and Masto-Cortez?

Harris might very well be the farthest left person in Congress right now.

Identity politics is politics. We don't want tokenism, though.

He is that light-skinned in your opinion? There is no way Booker is as light-skinned as Butterfield.
