This is all based on their 2016 performance. While Johnson did not hit the all-important 5% threshold for federal funding, the party did meet many of the statewide thresholds to earn automatic ballot access for any candidate they run in those states for any office up in 2018.


They can still gain access  in the other states through signature-gathering.

John Husted and the Ohio GOP has done an excellent job disenfranchising Libertarians.

They could be spoilers for some GOP senators. Dean Heller in Nevada would be in trouble. Ted Cruz in Texas as well.
