Rural Alaska vs. Rural Montana vs. Rural Maine - where would you prefer to live?

Well definitely not Alaska. I don't need days where the night never ends. So a toss up between Montana ad Maine

But that doesn't even happen in all of Alaska.

In any case, I'm going with rural Alaska, because that's where I'm from and I'd love to go back someday.

Those can be visited.

But I value trees too much to go for anything past North Pole as a residence.

There's plenty of trees farther north still. It's not quite as dense, but it's still very pretty.
