He must be thinking to himself, "I could have ran in 2016 and could have beaten Trump". Yes, he would be 82 years old in 2020, but he has a lot of vitality in him. Can the California governor make a run one more time?

He didn't run in 2016 due to his age. He won't run in 2020.

Jerry Brown is the smartest man in politics and one of the most honest. His preference for ideology before party should inspire every politician and is an admirable trait.

...No.

1992 was it for him and the national scene.

LOL... no, he'll be 82. I wish he would have been president, because he is a terrific guy. He would have been far better than Billy in 1992. But he's going to retire after his gubernatorial term has expired.

And just to reassure the voters, draft Jerry Brown and John McCain for VP. Could also be Walter Mondale and Henry Kissinger.

There was a thread about this almost two years ago - Carter was the overwhelming choice of the forum.

No.

Governor Moonbeam will not run, if he runs he loses overwhelmingly, which he would so richly deserve.

The "Governor Moonbeam" image has either faded away, or has been morphed to where Brown looks like a man ahead of his time.

He's turning into the most active Elder Statesman the Democrats have.

He's also the most eminently qualified candidate to run, albeit folks will gag somewhat on "age 82".

He'd be an excellent President, but he already passed on 2016 because of his age. (Given his history, I can't imagine anyone would think he was scared out of the race by Clinton.) No way he would run in 2020.

Just as you predicted he'll lose in 2010?

I don't remember everything I said or predicted in 2010.

You will have to produce proof.

If I said that, fine with me.

If not, then your statement is false.

FTR, I am sure I have made plenty of predictions that never came to pass.  Smiley

Along with 1976 when he was the runner-up to Carter nationally in the primaries.

Too inexperienced in '76, and he was a late entry in that one anyway. If Ben Sasse had entered after Rubio's exit, well that's the closest equivalent.

Too quixotic in 1980, and this image didn't temper until Boring Pete beat him in 1982 for Senate.

But the 1992 rebirth, now that was something.
