*vomits* I guess it'd be the SPD (if that creep Schulz is not the leader; I quite like Sigmar Gabriel).

Basically, all the votes are needed to stem the tides of Fascism.

CDU/Merkel, and under the presumption that the current coalition will continue.

Merkel, easily. And I'm a little worried that the neo-fascists seem to be leading in this poll...

Die Linke, reluctantly. I'm closer to SPD ideologically but I can't reward them for allying with Merkel.

I voted SDU under the guise of not giving Merkel a blank check and that they are part of the coalition, anyways.

Ha, that's actually pretty true. Sad!

The German state which is closest to Atlas in terms of voting behavior is Saxony-Anhalt btw.

2016 Saxony-Anhalt state election
CDU 29.8%
AfD 24.3%
Left 16.3%
SPD 10.6%
Greens 5.2%
FDP 4.9%

Demographically, Saxony-Anhalt has a 9% unemployment rate, and a 4% immigrant rate. 80% are agnostic/atheist, and 17% are Christian. I hope that fits with Atlas as well. Tongue

My own party, the SPD. A party that is highly underated while Merkel is totally overrated.

I could be convinced to join all three parties of the left, but all three are so chock a block full of hacks. Maybe SPD, because I'm not obsessed with leaving NATO like Linke and Greens are ever-veering towards "FDP with solar panels".

Ugh, well... if the Greens are veering "towards" the FDP they're literally doing it at the speed of a snail.

In 2013, they ran on a platform of tax hikes for anyone who earns more than 80.000 € a year.

In 2017, they're gonna run on a platform of tax hikes for anyone who earns more than 100.000 € a year, which means they moved about a centimeter to the right the last four years.

The assessment of a "FDP with solar panels" is actually truer with regards to the Greens' voter base and therein lies a recurring problem for the party because they always try to raise their own voters' taxes, which leads to their voters not voting for them.

Exception is Baden-Württemberg of course... maybe the only state where the party is in line with its base.

I've always liked the Greens, but after this past year I might be more inclined to go w/Linke.
The vote here is looking like a red-purple-yellow coalition or a blue-red-yellow coalition. The latter is probably more likely. I can't see a FDP-CDU-AfD coalition working out, because that would lose the FEP their voting base pretty fast.

Well that's the thing. The Greens may vote for lefty principles in their meetings, but it's increasingly clear that the party will go down the Kretschmann route. After all, as The Left lose their Stasi label with time, increasingly young left-wing activists will join them rather than the Greems. And I think (although I could be wrong) that a Green-CDU coalition would be a lot more liberal than the current grand coalition and more easy to surrender on left-wing values - partially because the SPD have their union constituencies and partially because the nature of a grand coalition encourages inertia. I mean, yes, the existence of the CSU mean the former coalition is largely impossible right now, but...

The AfD will not be joining a federal coalition until there has been a few state based experiments first.

Merkel (CDU/CSU), very reluctantly.

I don't see what I agree w/ SDP or the Greens on. Lol at me ever supporting The Left.
FDP seems meh, so that's a possibly, maybe?
AfD can go crawl back from the hole it came from.

Pirates, Greens, or SPD depending on where I lived. Die Linke are still too close to the Stasi for me, AFD became rotten.
