I've heard the the primary reason for his running now was to run for president in 2020, but now that Trump is president I would imagine it's unlikely for him to run at all in 2020.

He prefers campaigning to being a senator. I wouldn't be completely surprised if he drops out halfway through to run for something else or join the public sector.

I'd give the chance up to 75%. Folks, he will still be 51 in 2022.

I think he has a 100% chance of winning re-election in 2022 and that he will have stronger electoral performance in the 2022 Senate race than he earned in 2016 because he will serve all his 6 year-term, so he won't miss many Senate votes.

Even if Trump won, Rubio can still run for President in 2024.

Whether Trump is re-elected or not or whether Trump is impeached before 2020 and that Pence is re-elected in 2020 or not, the next open Republican presidential primary campaign will be in 2024 so I think 2024 will be the best opportunity to Rubio to take his revenge.

In addition, in 2024, Rubio could benefit from Ted Cruz's absence because Ted Cruz's Senate seat in Texas will be up for re-election in 2024 and Cruz could possibly even lose a potential primary challenge in 2018.

Republicans will be telling themselves "WOH! We only won in 2016 because of the Electoral College, so we have to win more votes among ethnic minorities, especially Hispanics."

By the way, Rubio will be 53 in 2024 and he will be more experienced than he was during his first presidential run so his potential rivals can no longer attack him on his "lack of experience".

So 2024 could be Rubio's year.

Not if Trump is president.

I think Trump will be a one-term president whether he's impeached before 2020 or defeated in 2020.

I doubt he serves his full term. He only ran this year so he could run against Hillary in 2020. He's too dumb, lazy and secretly gay to serve another full six year term.

I think everything is on the Table for him regarding 2022. If Trump loses Reelection in 2020 Rubio will almost certainly running for POTUS again. I also could see him running for Governor in 2022 if Democrats win the FL Governor Race in 2018 given that he knows Tallahassee and had a pretty decent tenure as Speaker of the FL House. If Trump wins in 2020 and Republicans hold FL Governor in 2018 he could run for a 3rd Senate Term.

Rubio though strikes me more as an Executive Guy not one who does Legislature. He jumped back into the FL Senate Race because at that time the GOP Senate Majority was in danger. Illinois Senate, Wisconsin Senate and Indiana Senate were deemed losses for Republicans.

Rubio also might have saved Trump in Florida. Trump won the Cuban-Hispanic Vote 51-43 over Clinton in FL and having a Cuban Hispanic Down Ballot probably helped Trump in South FL. Had Rubio not run those folks may have been more tempted to vote for Clinton.

The dude is worse than Charlie Crist. The only reason I don't think he'll run for Governor in 2018 at this point after he so flagrantly ditched his promise not to seek another term is because I'm convinced that he is preparing to primary President Trump along with Cruz.

Probably, considering he doesn't have the guts to try and primary Trump in 2020, and he'll want a launching pad for 2024.
