People generally know what their self interest is. You don't need a degree to tell you that.

Winning college graduates by single digits indicates nothing about being more correct. Even understanding it as a flip from the other party having a single digit win, self interest simply changed very slightly towards stability for a group without any hardship when a change candidate was nominated. The tax cuts will soon be flooding their wallets and that should flip back in no time along with elevated financial assets/net worth.

Pelosi would be a much better candidate than most folks think.  She'd have been a much better candidate than Hillary Clinton was this year, even at age 76.

If they were to do that it would kill the party and my support for it, but Cuomo would probably be the guy.

Well, if they can get another 10% net swing in 4 years in Atlanta, Phoenix, Houston, and Dallas, they will be just fine.

What a winning strategy, haha.  No wonder you guys are killin' it.

They better hope it makes for all the ones voluntarily leaving the country because they can afford it.

It won't matter should Donald Trump be the disaster of a President that I think he is -- or if Mike Pence is stuck continuing a bad term.

We better hope that Trump is an effective president or we get stuck with another fundie neocon as president when Pence takes over.

We may need to see both -- and see them both fail -- if we are to get our stuff together politically.

I don't really know how we proceed into the future when education makes someone a member of the dreaded "elite," yet it also makes them more likely to be correct.

The thing that matters most is appearance. This is as true in politics as it is in the real world. You don't need to change the contents, just the packaging.

Take Joe Biden vs Hillary Clinton. They have no policy differences. But Joe Biden certainly would have won PA, MI and WI. That's because of his appearance.

Hillary Clinton only campaigned in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. That didn't look good. She should have campaigned in places like Erie and Scranton to at least show the appearance she wasn't writing them off.

The Dems also don't need to change their positions on race and class. They just need to focus more on class and less on race. This election they focused more on race and less on class. This turned people off. You don't need to change anything - just the appearance.

Elizabeth Warren/ Xavier Becerra (or Gavin Newsom)

Becerra may be a good choice for Veep. As the Attorney General of the most populous state, he'll be a prominent Trump opponent. His congressional experience makes him qualified. In the likely event Democrats nominate a female Senator not named Kamala Harris, he would fit her background well (he could also be a match for white male Senators/ Governors.)

Another metropolitan ticket would be Bill De Blasio/ Kamala Harris. Get the mayor of New York City, and the former DA of San Fransisco

Come to think of it, Harris/ Franken is also quite metropolitan. Franken may be a Minnesota Senator, but he's quite associated with New York City.

Gilibrand's from Upstate NY, but I don't know how well national voters would be aware of that.
