When I posted this I knew Thanksgiving was approaching, but I couldn't be be bothered to look up the exact date.

My mom and I supported the same candidate in the primary and general, so no.

We all hate the fascist Orange Pussygrabber. So fortunately, I am happy to be with my relatives. I did however start cutting out Facebook people who voted Trump.

Worst was my cousin said he agreed with Trump's policies but hated him as a person. My dad got heated at that. Surprisingly, my sister-in-law who voted for Johnson (and she also made my brother vote for Mr. Aleppo) said nothing.

No. No one in my nuclear family voted Trump or Hillary and everyone in my extended family voted Trump so no fighting because the Trump voters were confident and knew no one in my nuclear family liked Hillary.

Trying to find a Trump supporter around here is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Especially if you extend that to unironic support.

This is what you people do on holidays?  You invite relatives over that you haven't seen in years and, of all things, you discuss politics?

It's rare, but once in a while we have a dinner guest who insists on discussing politics.  I just politely nod and say, "um, huh, that's interesting" till I get a chance to successfully alter the conversation, and I do that whether or not I agree with what that person is saying.

My grandparents immediately mandated 'no political discussion' the second they walked in the door. They couldn't bear to hear the rest of us - save my siblings who are still in depression mode - bragging.

Not really. We talked about our mutual surprise at the results, though my Clinton supporting relatives were a lot less bitter than most Clinton supporters I know.

We "argue" sometimes, yeah.

I'm virtually the only Van der Bellen voter in my family. While my mum is definitely voting for Hofer, my 2 brothers are not that likely to vote, but if they do I guess they'll vote for Hofer. My sister originally voted for the SPÖ guy in the first round, but switched over to Hofer in the runoff. My uncles and aunt are FPÖ-voters too.

A little.

My mom really doesn't like how anti-Hillary I am and thinks my vote is what made Trump win.

My southern family were also Trump supporters. You all can guess how well that went over Thanksgiving dinner.

The sole TRUMP voter in my Immediate family practically gloated (he's an avowed racist) tried to force my mom out of the marriage to my Arab father because "the family that started with Samuel Franklin's blood will be tainted by dark skin and terrorism" cause yuh know, being the descendant of BENJAMIN FRANKLIN's BROTHER is apparently HOLY BLOOD to my grandpa.

My mother, and maternal grandmother were disgusted with my grandpa's reaction when he said it was finally time we deported millions of Hispanics and Muslims and it led to a shouting match on election night.

my paternal grandparents cried when Trump looked like he'd win and started saying prayers (and to this day they are SERIOUSLY considering moving to Jordan or Egypt).

We refused to let our families mix knowing my grandpa would gloat if Trump won. My siblings all were pissed when he won.

Big time.

Son is a big Trump fan and his mother is not.

My 14 yo son got told off at school for supporting Trump because the teacher was telling them they had to like Hillary.

He spoke up saying the wall was a good thing.

No, because I have a great family and I don't know of any of them that voted for Trump. I don't know how I would have reacted if someone I loved voted for Trump (something that I would end a friendship over). It's a like finding out someone's a racist, which is something I just can't tolerate in friends or family. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy a good political debate and I've had some serious ones with my staunch Libertarian grandpa (who voted for Gary Johnson and also for Prop 64). I can deal with someone not voting for Hillary. I can't deal with someone voting for Trump.

And before anyone jumps to conclusions, I know of family and friends that voted for GWB in 2004. It was disappointing, but I never even considered disowning anyone for it.

Status quo remains on the Crt until 2020 with Kennedy retires and the House and Senate stay in GOP hands and tax penalty removed from hardship of the ACA of the working poor.

Immigration reform in a boarder fense.  All passed by 2020.

Yes, for just a couple minutes. Only two out of 12 attendees voted for Trump. My brother is one of them and he mentioned it (seemingly just to provoke/brag). My aunt was clearly set off and yelled back and forth with him for a minute or two before the Clinton consensus at the rest of the table mocked Trump until my brother shook his head and shut up. Power in numbers.

The only Trump supporters in my family are distant cousins and great-uncles who haven't been invited to Thanksgiving in decades. In fact the only intense political argument I've had with my family this election season was over Washington's Public Lands Commissioner (Lots of loggers in my family).
