While many have pointed out how even if Trump is unpopular that taking back the senate will be hard for the dems because they defending like 23 seats while challenging only 8. However in 2018 every seat in the house is up for grabs. So if Trump is just awful like his infrastructure plan is just a tax write-off to his corporate buddies, he pushes Ryan's plan to cut medicare, or they repeal Obamacare with no real replacement, what are the chances the dems retake the house?

I don't know. Who knows what the 2022 races after redistricting will look like?

Very high. The results in Cali show Dems have a much easier path to the house than the media believes.

If Trump's approvals reach 30%, then the chances of Democrats taking back the House by 2020 are high.

A lot higher than "conventional wisdom" would dictate.

Probably less than 50%, but still very possible.

The priority, though, should be winning enough gubernatorial elections in 2017-2020 to make the House easy to win in the 2020s.

60% chance if Trump's approval ratings are ~40%. It increases exponentially from there.
