Why are people actually responding to this poll seriously?

To show that the right wing here unlike the left wing won't choose a dictator (no matter if they are right or left) over an American president.

Because american presidents have all been capitalistic, so the right has no reason to dislike anyone of them. Let's not act like Saddam perused any right-wing policies, in the scheme of things, so let's not act like the right would like him. However the right, including Regan were fine with supporting fascist dictatorships around the world, including the Taliban for the pursuit of the free-market right-wing agenda.

The mujaheeden was a much less of a threat to peace then the Soviet Union

Oh that's why we never had a Taliban, and Islamic terrorist groups, oh wait. Just admit, you don't care for the rights of people in the middle east, especially women.

I still say FDR/Reagan isn't a very good analogy, since FDR isn't hated by the right like Reagan is by the left. Also Saddam/Fidel isn't the best of analogies either--can anyone seriously picture a prominent western politician praising Saddam Hussein like Trudeau praised Castro?

A better comparison would be something like Obama vs. Pinochet.

FDR has despicable positions on race and certainly Japanese internment. He was also far-left on economics.

I really can't understand why the right doesn't hate FDR.

Er, I don't think that's quite accurate...

For much the same reason the mainstream left doesn't hate* Churchill, perhaps?

*criticize, sure, and rightly so

Soviet Union committed genocide, killed over 70 million people in their brutal rule, had the ability to bring their evil ideology all across the world , and a war with them could result in the world getting destroyed.

Im Sorry the USSR was the 2nd most evil country in the past 500 years.

with Bresnev it was still extremely tyrannical . Brenev still wanted to make every country in the world  commie .

By the way Afghanistan would never had the Tailban if the SOVIETS DIDNT INVADE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Before the soviets invaded the country was very western and not even close to being fundamentalist.

Here's proof(Afganistan before USSR invasion): http://www.businessinsider.com/astonishing-photos-of-prewar-afghanistan-show-everyday-life-in-peaceful-kabul-2013-2?op=1

So it was the USSR who destroyed that not Reagan , but you leftists wont blame the Commies for anything.
